09.01.2022 Ali Behjat is a producer and rapper who wants you to think but also get down and groove. Originally from Perth, Ali started playing instruments at the age of 3 and from there, his deep passion for music grew. Playing in bands during high school he started to develop his songwriting with a focus on how the music made you move and feel. Paying close attention to toneand rhythm he explored and discovered what music can do for the listener. Currently Ali is usingwhat he has lea...rned from his musical experience and has taken a foray into producing and rapping. Inspired by the likes of Kanye West, MF DOOM and Wu-Tang Clan, his Project (The Adventures of Boy Wonder) explores themes such as introspection and mental health through the eyes of a character. Backed up by some fresh sample based beats this project will get you up andmoving and also get you thinking about yourself. Perth is about to be hit with some fresh energy! Catch Ali at the Bird next Friday from 8pm!

07.01.2022 Also performing a live DJ set at The Bird for FUTURE FUNDAMENTALS | EMSD Showcase on Nov 6 is Gilley It all started with a love of dance music, a love which stretched across every aspect of his life consuming almost every waking hour. Whether this man is producing, exercising, working or studying, music constantly pervades his life in some way some way or another. It was this constant presence of music which inspired him to take this passion and turn it from a dream into a ca...reer. With a deep, gritty and underground sound, influenced by the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Charlotte de Witte, Gilley’s music brings together the flavours of techno and trance in a fusion like no other. As a huge fan of these genres himself he embodies their deep grooves and thumping basslines and gives them a life of their own. With a strong background in club DJing, Gilley is talent to behold behind the decks and can be found across Perth in its premier venues such as Magnet House, Villa and The Court. With his debut EP dropping this summer he is a talent to keep an eye on.
