13.01.2022 Congratulations to all involved in the hugely successful Wallacea Symposium! There was terrific turnout at this two-day, cross-disciplinary conference held at the IOMRC last week, with 26 presentations on the physical, natural and cultural dynamics of this extraordinary island chain. Big thanks to co-sponsors The Royal Society of Western Australia and symposium organisers David Haig and Margaret Smith (see photograph below). With topics ranging across the geology, marine and terrestrial biogeography, archaeology, human ecology, modern and past marine and terrestrial environments, and changes in continent and ocean orientations over time, there truly was something for everyone #marinescience #growingouroceanscommunity
