20.01.2022 Following on from the last post, this has come through from the UWA branch of the NTEU: "You will have seen the reporting regarding casual underpayment cases at Australian universities, and our VC’s message yesterday regarding the delay in UWA’s internal audit of casual underpayments. While we wait for the University to progress the formal audit, the NTEU will assess pay claims by members and present them to the University as a matter of priority. If you believe you are currently being or have in the past been underpaid and want your case to be considered by NTEU industrial staff please fill in this form to get started. Casual staff are often left off university mailing lists and can be hard to contact, so if you are a unit coordinator or are otherwise able to share the information with casual staff at UWA, please do so."

16.01.2022 An urgent message from the NTEU. This move will be tremendously disruptive for teaching programs, and will have an impact on sessional staff. Non-union members are certainly welcome to attend: "We have received reports that 75 academic staff will be made redundant, possibly by the start of second semester. We are calling an urgent members’ meeting THIS FRIDAY (14th February) 1pm-2pm (Fox Lecture Theatre in the Arts building) to ensure everyone is prepared and understands their rights."
