23.01.2022 New photo! This one is from Kitami, the fog looked so cool I couldn't resist shooting this. Tell me what you think!

21.01.2022 I shot this out the window of my bedroom, then immediately edited it while looking at the sky itself, so to me it looks exactly how the real thing did, but I am on a non-calibrated screen so I can't really be certain!

20.01.2022 The e-Book is now available! 6 pages packed with expert advice on how to use Photoshop to improve architectural photos. Head over to my site to pick it up now.

20.01.2022 As promised, some new photos from the one and only Japan! These ones are from Kyoto - a must for any traveller in Japan. Specifically, this shrine is called Yasaka and is only a short walk from many traditional Japanese streets and shops in Kyoto.

19.01.2022 I'm back from hibernation! It has been a while since my last post, but I have been in Japan lately and you can expect to see some photos coming soon so make sure you don't miss out! If you want to know more about the photos feel free to message me here!

12.01.2022 The Guetzli JPEG Encoder I talked about in this blog post is a great way to optimise the most important images on a website where visual quality is important. It isn't the most straight-forward software to use if you're not familiar with the command line, but this quick tip will guide you through using it. Using the command line can be a bit scary to first-time users, so just read carefully and check each step; the command line is a very powerful tool and opens you up to a whole new world of software to use. 12.01.2022 Thinking of giving a large print of this away for FREE! It is a 16x23 inch print, and depending on the feedback I receive from this post, will either come framed or backed - posted right to you (unless I deliver it myself)! If you're interested, give this a like and share it with your friends! The bigger response I get, the better the giveaway will be!

11.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone! Say hello to this little guy I saw when I was out on a walk a few weeks back. I'm sure I looked a lot more scary to them than they do to me, but I couldn't resist getting this photo. Enjoy!

08.01.2022 Dont miss out on the exclusive early access to my upcoming photography e-book, just head over to the new website, give it some feedback and you're in! www.uxgroup.com.au

06.01.2022 I've always been keeping an eye out for more ways to learn photography online ever since I started, and I have come to know many great places to learn everything from the most basic camera controls, to advanced techniques for creating architectural images. Reading about photography helps develop skills, and you get to see great new styles of photography. It also gives you a new perspective when it comes to choosing what to shoot. P.P.S If you happen to miss out you can still send me a message on the site to receive the e-book as soon as it is released.

04.01.2022 Google's new JPEG encoder has recently been open sourced and it is claimed to produce much higher quality JPEG images with a smaller file size, as much as 35% (although google states it is more like 20-30% for most images) reduction in file size with comparable qualities. The new encoder uses a different technique for establishing what data to keep and what to throw away compared to traditional JPEG encoders, meaning you can get a better representation of the original image, while reducing the file size significantly. 04.01.2022 Only 1 week till "The Power of Photoshop for Architectural Images" e-Book is released! Head over to the website and sign up to the mailing list to be the first to recieve it! If you can't wait and want to get it before everyone else, just give my site a small review. http://uxgroup.com.au/photoshop-for-architecture-early-bird/

03.01.2022 Japan is definitely good at this whole sunset thing. Enjoying it every day.

02.01.2022 65 Megapixels. An HDR Panoramic in Kitami (Northern Japan) made up of 14 HDR stacks. 65 is a lot of megapixels; Somewhat unnecessary, but kind of cool to be able to say. Sadly the biggest you'll be able to see it here is about 2 megapixels.... P.S. If you want to see the whole thing feel free to order a print from me. ;)

02.01.2022 Great to get out and shoot just with one camera and lens. It also gave me a chance to keep experimenting with my HDR development technique. HDR combined by hand in Photoshop, edits in Lightroom.

01.01.2022 Awesome telephoto shot from my bedroom window, the birds just top this shot off if you ask me.

01.01.2022 As well as being an extraordinary culinary experience, The Grounds of Alexandria stood out visually! Only a short step out of the city, this place is sure to rock your tastebuds and give you some photographic eyecandy. I couldn't recommend this place more. #notpaidtosaythis #youreallyshouldgo
