Was wonderful to see our seconds charge towards the back end of the season, clinching the plate playoff. While our league girls fell agonisingly short in the Women’s GF, what is to be commended, is the tenacity, hard work and sacrifice from every single one of our players. While results have been mixed, it has been a fantastic ...year of growth from a mental and physical perspective, with so many new players coming up through the ranks. 09.01.2022 Working in both League and Union for the 2021 seasons provides a great amount of positive and unique challenges. Helping build a team from the ground up has been enjoyable, and it’s been important to stress we may need to take a step back in areas to go 2 steps forward. Lifting technique has been paramount in this case, where through our general foundational block, the message is it’s not about the amount of weight we lift, but how we are liftin...g it, and why we are targeting specific exercises. I am very big on eliminating sloppy technique, understanding certain form nuances that are non-negotiable and being very competent of the basics. It’s important not to just throw in things that may look cool on social media, but understand the programming purpose.
