22.01.2022 What is Remy Hair? Why should my Extensions be Remy? We get asked this question a lot! So, in a nutshell , we’re going to lay it out for you! ... The main difference between Remy Human Hair and Standard Human hair is how it’s collected. Standard hair is collected once it falls from the head (think brushes, the floor of salons etc), where as Remy is from a paid donor. Remy is generally cut from a pony tail and ensures all the cuticles are in the same direction. This ensures softness and no tangling. Due to the collection method of Standard hair, all the cuticles are in opposing directions (which will call frizzy ness, tangling etc), the supplier then has to rinse the hair in an acid bath to get rid of the cuticles...then it is coated in silicone. Although this helps to give the hair a shine and smoothness, it doesn’t last long. This means that the hair will need to be replaced sooner. Ultimately, the cost of Remy is dearer...however, remember that you get what you pay for!! Our advice, always choose Remy!
