24.01.2022 Our local Auto Barn gets a wash down and disinfection service. They are doing their bit to slow the spread of CORVID-19 by disinfecting external areas of the building. Did you know that the World Health Organisation suggest COVID-19 can last up to 9 days on glass surfaces? Do your bit to "flatten the curve" ring now for your sanitisation and disinfection service. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI96SXYc6yM

23.01.2022 When VAC Group go out to complete a vacuum excavation job, we always make sure we have the necessary equipment with us. Sometimes this means the vac truck and GPR scanner, but other times we need to bring out the non-destructive profiler. Our non-destructive profiler comes out to site when we have concrete, bitumen or cement to cut through. The non-destructive profiler is able to cut through the hard materials with ease, and leaves up to 30% less damage to the surface. The saw is around 110mm wide and has hundreds of small teeth that are able to cut through the asphalt or concrete, creating space for our vac truck operators to come in and begin the vacuum excavation. To find out more about our non-destructive profiler and the story of how it was created, click here: https://www.vacgroup.com.au//what-is-a-non-destructive-pro

23.01.2022 If you ever needed convincing on the severity of utility line strikes, check out this major explosion that happened in the United States last month. A small spark is all gas needs to create a massive explosion, endangering lives and causing mass destruction. Not only is it important to know where your utility lines are but you also need to know how to react when a line strike occurs. It seems obvious but in the moment, without proper training, people often dont realise they need to evacuate the area when a gas or electricity line strike happens. 13.01.2022 Meet Latro, our push cart wonder! Latro is a push-cart subsurface 3D GPR system, revolutionising the ground penetrating radar industry. It provides high resolution underground feature mapping with survey grade positioning. But the best part is you are able to push it over the general area you need to scan, instead of trying to scan a single utility. The features and technology in the Latro set it apart from the rest of the smaller GPR technology on the market, both in quality and efficiency. The Latro is perfect for pavements, footpaths and road projects as the detail it provides is second to none. If youre serious about utility locating before excavation the Latro is the machine you need to complete the job. 10.01.2022 Ever wondered how you could cut your vacuum excavation costs in half? Well it has a lot to do with your dumping costs. Anyone in vacuum excavation knows that one of the most expensive parts of the job is the dumping costs at the end because its slurry, instead of dirt. We at VAC Group have figured out a way around this, soil transfer. We have created a machine that takes vacuum excavation slurry and separates the water and dirt, creating reusable fill and reusable water. To find out how you can cut our costs in half as well click here: https://www.vacgroup.com.au//How-to-half-your-vacuum-excav

04.01.2022 Ever wondered how ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment works? At VAC Group, we are experts at utility locating and have a range of GPR equipment to fit the requirements of the jobs we complete. Calling a utility locator to scan the area for utility lines should always be the first step before excavation works take place. Whether its through electromagnetic conduction or laser pulses, ground penetrating radar is able to provide vital unseen information. The GPR information can save an operator from injury, and a site from delay. 03.01.2022 The history of vacuum excavation is more interesting than you may think! The people that first used water to clear materials away were looking for something more exciting than utilities. 03.01.2022 The benefits of non destructive digging far outweigh the initial costs of the service. In todays world there is no real knowing what is under the ground until you dig as there are both historic foreign objects and modern utilities under the surface. Using non destructive excavation means that no damage comes to the machine excavating the ground or the utilities and objects in the ground. To find out more about non destructive digging read our blog highlighting the top five benefits here. https://www.vacgroup.com.au//benefits-of-non-destructive-d

02.01.2022 So youve seen our ground penetrating radar equipment out and about, but have you ever put much thought into what our GPR equipment is made up of? As you could probably guess, radar makes up a large portion of that but theres a lot going on under the hood that gives us the most reliable GPR scans in the industry. In our latest blog post we go through not only the technologies we have in our GPR technology but all the ground penetrating radar technology on the market. These technologies are cutting edge and at the very forefront of the industry. To find out more, click here: http://ow.ly/eyh950uoq3u
