16.01.2022 Earlier in December 2020 Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell and A/Deputy Commissioner Tevita Vailea completed a program of Community Engagement and Outreach i...n the Outer Islands. The program included visits with all Police Officers, and meetings with Town and District Officers and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vavaú Volunteer Maritime Response Association (VVMRA). The Domestic Violence Unit and the Tonga Police Development Program were also in the Outer Islands conducting community outreach as well.

Please relay to the outer island base stat...ions and vessels traveling beyond the Neiafu Harbour that they might have trouble using VHF Channel 26 until repairs can be made. The Ministry of Communication in Nuku'alofa has been made aware of the situation.
