25.01.2022 Can you believe that Christmas is less than 10 days away and the end of 2020 is just around the corner. Most health funds follow a Jan-Dec calendar year, which means all unclaimed health fund benefits will be lost and will not roll over into the new year on January 1st, 2021. It is important to check with your health fund if your benefits follow a financial year or Jan-Dec calendar year to ensure you get the full benefits of your policy. Appointments are filling up fast. Schedule yours now. Call us on 9455 5880 or book your online appointment on HealthEngine.

20.01.2022 You should brush your tongue every time you brush your teeth. It’s pretty simple: - brush back and forth - brush side to side - rinse your mouth with water... Be careful not to over brush, though. You don’t want to break the skin!

12.01.2022 Surprises are fun sometimes but we don’t think they have a place in dentistry. That’s why we always provide our patients with a treatment plan that outlines any work we are suggesting and the associated costs. We want our patients to be able to think about their treatment and make decisions on their own time, without any pressure or surprise costs.

09.01.2022 Are you or your kids getting enough calcium in your diet? Calcium is important for building healthy teeth, jaws and bones and can even protect teeth from early onset decay. Most people believe that dairy milk is the only source of calcium we can incorporate in our diet, but we have rounded some non-dairy alternatives you can start bringing into your daily intake today. Leafy greens (e.g. spinach, kale, and even pak choy!) Fish (e.g. sardines are packed with calcium) Nuts and seeds (e.g. almond and brazil nuts)

07.01.2022 When it comes to the health of your teeth, you really are what you eat. Sugary foods, such as candy and soda, contribute to tooth decay. Use this healthy foods list to improve your diet and the health of your mouth. Cheese Cheese contains calcium and protein, nutrients that strengthen tooth enamel.... Yogurt Like cheese, yogurt is high in calcium and protein, which makes it a good pick for the strength and health of your teeth. The probiotics, or beneficial bacteria, found in yogurt also benefit your gums because the good bacteria crowd out bacteria that cause cavities. If you decide to add more yogurt to your diet, choose a plain variety with no added sugar. Leafy Greens Leafy greens typically find their way onto any healthy foods list. They're full of vitamins and minerals while being low in calories. Leafy greens such as kale and spinach also promote oral health. They're high in calcium, which builds your teeth's enamel. Apples The action of eating an apple produces saliva in your mouth, which rinses away bacteria and food particles. The fibrous texture of the fruit also stimulates the gums. Carrots Like apples, carrots are crunchy and full of fiber. Eating a handful of raw carrots at the end of the meal increases saliva production in your mouth, which reduces your risk of cavities. Along with being high in fiber, carrots are a great source of vitamin A. Celery Celery might get a bad reputation for being bland, watery and full of those pesky strings, but like carrots and apples, it acts a bit like a toothbrush, scraping food particles and bacteria away from your teeth. It's also a good source of vitamins A and C, two antioxidants that give the health of your gums a boost. Almonds Almonds are great for your teeth because they are a good source of calcium and protein while being low in sugar.

05.01.2022 Dental Health Week 3-9 August 2020 To enter please colour in the Healthy teeth for life picture and return to us by 31st August 2020. Winner will be announced on Monday 7th September 2020. Dental Health Week is an opportunity for us to promote and educate our local community about the importance of good oral health. The best time to learn good oral hygiene habits is in early childhood, so this year we are running a colouring in competition to raise awarene...ss and help kids get excited about looking after their teeth. Remember these four steps so you can have healthy teeth for life: 1.Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. 2.Clean between your teeth daily using floss or interdental brushes. 3.Eat a healthy, balanced diet and limit sugar intake. 4.Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups and preventive care.

04.01.2022 Impacted wisdom teeth can result in pain, damage to other teeth and other dental problems. You can't keep an impaction from occurring, but keeping regular six-month dental appointments for cleaning and checkups enables your dentist to monitor the growth and emergence of your wisdom teeth. Regularly updated dental X-rays may indicate impacted wisdom teeth before any symptoms develop.

02.01.2022 Thanks to each and everyone who participated in our Dental Health Week. For those who still have not submitted their colourings, you still have time until August 31st. Our main objective is to promote oral health education and awareness in the general community and early education
