24.01.2022 TOMORROW 8:15 ACTING ENSEMBLE REHEARSAL CANCELLED Tomorrow will be a big day for the young actors so we decided to cancel morning rehearsal to allow them to rest and feel ready for their big intensive day!
19.01.2022 WAVING THROUGH A WINDOW ‘Waving Through a Window’ is now officially LIVE on the Valentine PS Facebook page! Hope you enjoy the performance and the outstanding physical theatre skills this group have been working on. We are hoping to release Annie - Tomorrow/Hard Knock Life and Babbity Rabbity for you all by the end of the term!
18.01.2022 CASTING SPELLS WITH THE CAST OF BABBITY RABBITY For those of you who missed our 'Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump' promo. The cast have been working hard to perfect this piece. They are all doing an excellent job. Our hope is to perform it at some point during the term and film it so famillies can also watch.... Stay tuned and watch this space!
17.01.2022 THATS A WRAP! We had such a fun morning filming ‘Waving Through a Window’! I felt like they were each plucked straight out of the 80’s! Thank you parents and carers for organising their costumes. ... We cannot wait for you to see it!

13.01.2022 REHEARSAL ARRANGEMENTS WEEK 3 (next week) Only the Babbity cast is required at Monday rehearsal.... WEEK 4 Only the Annie cast is required at Monday rehearsal. This is to get on top of a few things we missed due to restrictions last term.
12.01.2022 WORKSHOP COMPLETE! What an exciting day full of challenging experiences for our passionate young actors. The smiles and laughter was endless! Today they build more on their improvisation techniques and learnt how to write, direct and perform a play in a day! Thanks James at Hunter Drama for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

08.01.2022 ACTING ENSEMBLE REHEARSAL DAY CHANGE Dear parents and carers, Due to a clash with the band on Wednesdays due to COVID-19, the acting ensemble will now be rehearsing on Mondays from 8:15am in the school hall.... This will commence next week Monday 27th July 2020. There is now a ‘Valentine Public School Acting Ensemble’ Facebook page parents can now ‘like’ to keep updated with rehearsals, costumes, production and performance videos. 07.01.2022 REMINDER! The Hunter Drama intensive workshop with James is on Monday 17th August (a week today). If you haven't already, please make sure you find the permission note via Skoolbag and make your payment by this Thursday.
06.01.2022 PERFORMANCE ANNOUCEMENT! Dear parents and carers, The VPS Acting Ensemble are very excited to announce their first performance will be released August 28th!... The piece is called 'Waving Through a Window' (Soundtrack from Dear Evan Hanson the musical). The piece is about the importance of being inclusive and the power of showing kindness. Due to COVID-19, these young performers will showcase this piece through the art of screen acting and will be made available for parents and the whole school to watch on the 28th of this month. COSTUMES - Monday 10th August (next week) the actors will need to arrive at school at 8:15am IN FULL COSTUME. The theme is '80's middle school' (Please see photos for inspiration). After filming, they will change into their school uniform, so please ensure this is packed in their school bag. Students DO NOT wear make up, but can wear their hair in a funky 80's style. This is very exciting and I for one, am in love this this piece and the story it tells. I cannot wait for you all to experience it. They have worked very hard and should be very proud of themselves. 06.01.2022 ACTING WORKSHOP TOMORROW! Just a reminder for those students who have paid and given permission to participate in the Hunter Drama intensive workshop to wear theatre blacks (comfortable black clothes) to school. The workshop will start at 9:30am in the hall, so they can get their name marked off the roll and head straight down to the hall with their bags.... It’s going to be a fun day!
04.01.2022 WAVING THROUGH A WINDOW RELEASE Due to technical complications, the release of Waving Through a Window has been delayed. Miss Baillie hopes to release it within the next couple of weeks. Watch this space!
