12.01.2022 Be safe around electricity during the storms: When a storm approaches, switch off and unplug electrical equipment Pack up electrical equipment that’s not in... use and store safely. If flood waters are expected, shift electrical equipment to higher locations. Unplug outside TVs and non-fixed aerials and store in a dry area. Regularly check your torch / lantern batteries and have torches / lanterns stored in a handy location for emergency use. Avoid touching metallic material such as water pipes and taps during electrical storms. Don't touch a damaged switchboard. Stay away from switchboards if they are damaged by water, fire or if lightning is close, and warn others to do the same. Don’t attempt to repair any damaged electrical equipment or wiring. Always use a licensed electrician. Do not go outside in an electrical storm until it has passed. For more information: WorkCover Queensland #storms #floods #electricalsafety

05.01.2022 "It is estimated 13,000 Australians will have contracted mesothelioma by 2020 and another 40,000 will suffer from asbestos-related cancers, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data. Yet homes are still being sold without disclosure of whether they harbour the deadly material and there is no law to enforce such declarations. "The REINSW recently called for mandatory disclosure of the presence of asbestos in a home or building site via the introduction of an Asbestos A...ct." http://www.domain.com.au//home-buyers-and-diy-renovators-/ See more
