24.01.2022 For you guys into energy healing that enjoy self-testing, kinesiology and dowsing, Shamanic Energy Training put together a little self-test for Immune System Support and I helped out with some acupressure point recommendations as was made by the Chinese medicine doctors currently on the frontline of COVID-19. 20.01.2022 In the interests of public health and social responsibility the clinic is now, sadly, closed. I am personally self-isolating in the interests of the most vulnerable in our community to help flatten the curve. Ill be re-evaluating as more reliable information comes out and i will be in touch with those who have an upcoming appointment. A massive shout out to the healthcare workers, carers, supermarket workers, small businesses, and individuals whom are actively caring for the...ir community by being on the frontline despite personal risk. Yall are amazing. Take lots of care you guys. Stay safe, stay home, reach out for help when you need it. Shout me a PM if you need to chat. Skype consultations are not out of the question, if they are wished for.
18.01.2022 This was shared by practitioner Chris McAlistair in a Shiatsu group and is just phenomenal! **Non-dual relationships in Shiatsu** Reading an article by acupuncturist Michael Greenwood, I recognised something I've been doing for many years but never found the right language to describe. Check this out.... Non-dual Shiatsu relationships are characterized by: (1) a dynamic relationship involving two equal partners, rooted in the notknowing of the Tao (2) a shift from the root assumption that "something is wrong" to "something is right" (3) an intentional shift from moving away to moving towards (4) a reversal of the conventional patient role; the patient (formerly passive, more Yin) becomes more active - an explorer who expresses curiosity (Yang) (5) a reversal of the conventional practitioner role; the practitioner (formerly active, more Yang) becomes more passive - a witness to the exploration (Yin) (6) a recognition of this reverse hierarchy, in which the practitioner may have more knowledge of Shiatsu and Oriental medicine, but the patient has more self-knowledge. The patient becomes the expert! Isn't it great? Non-Duality and the Second Ancestry, Michael T. Greenwood, Medical Acupuncture, Volume 31, Number 1, 2019.
18.01.2022 "As the dao moves away from and returns to itself, the four seasons cycle endlessly around the earth, and man moves through life from birth to death. Man's movement through life is powered by a wave of destiny (ming) that he is given a choice of fulfilling or turning away from with each heart beat. Heaven, in conferring destiny upon humans, establishes them as... one of three primal powers of heaven, human and earth. Humans assuming this role must, like the chong qi, perfectly blend the qualities (qi) of heaven and earth. This interaction must occur unimpeded by their minds interpretation in order to maintain unity with dao and the unity of dao. However, only the infant and the sage are able to move effortlessly through the transitions of life unencumbered by the fetters of self awareness. Hence, the lives of the infant and sage are held by the Daodejing as models of exemplary health." See more

Djirra is a Vic based Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation which provides holistic, culturally safe and specialist legal and non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people predominantly women. Djirra also designs and delivers important, community-based early intervention and prevention programs and undertakes policy and law reform work to improve access to justice, strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander womens resilience and reduce vulnerability to violence.

11.01.2022 Shared by practitioner Chris McAlister, repost: Beginner's Mind and the Virtues of Chemistry... Recently I was dialoguing with Peter Yates, one of my most respected teachers, on the subject of EBM - Evidence Based Medicine. This is something that is often used to criticise and diminish disciplines such as Shiatsu, where the orthodox wisdom would have us believe there is "no evidence" for the effects we see on a day-to-day basis. Peter is a man of humble origins, who has educated himself through following Oriental masters in martial and healing arts, including Shiatsu. He had this to say: "There is one point missing and that is the personal connection or rapport between the practitioner and patient. When I was studying in Japan, I had no thought of treating people. For me the study was an integration of the martial/healing philosophy of East Asia and part of my personal journey/development. People would come and ask for treatment and I would send them to the various practitioners I knew who were obviously much better than me. However, many would return saying that although the treatment felt good, the practitioner did not understand them, even if they spoke Japanese. Eventually I discovered that what they were really saying was that the practitioners had no idea of the stress of being a foreigner in Japan, and that they felt more comfortable with me, no matter my lack of knowledge or skill. At first I charged no money - people would give me food or film tickets etc. Looking back, I actually had some good results, partly due to that wonderful gift of beginner's luck and partly because I felt the trust placed in me. This is something that Evidence Based Medicine has no answer for but is clear in Quantum Physics: when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. In other words, the state of the observer affects the state of the observed. Ted Kaptchuck: "the present state of the practitioner will affect the patient and treatment outcome, positively or negatively." There is so much that cannot yet be explained or quantified with existing measures".
09.01.2022 Hey dears. A number of beloved clients and some newies have been getting in touch with aches and pains wanting some bodywork and to connect after a strange couple of months. I feel that! For the moment Ive decided to just keep an eye how things unfold, with a view to re-open on Fridays and Saturdays only when the time feels right and I dont feel Im putting anyone vulnerable at any significant risk. Im not taking any chances with your health. My time is also a bit more li...mited at the moment with other responsibilities, but that wont be forever. Stay safe, warm and cozy. Zoom chats are still a thing, if thats at all useful right now for you. #shiatsu #shiatsumelbourne #transpersonalhealing #bodywork #flattenthecurve
