25.01.2022 A perfect day despite the rain!!

24.01.2022 The Valhalla mares made a lot of new friends at the funeral held at Burstows today of noted thoroughbred trainer Kevin Webb. Here are a few shots. The ponies are their welcoming committee when they arrived back home.

24.01.2022 It's been a while since we shared any photos of Philly (Clydesdale x Thoroughbred) She is now a four year old and ready for some serious work - actually more than I can give her - but she has a beautiful nature and tries her best always. As you can see from the background, it is still very dry here but her paddock condition is testament to the rich soil of Glen Avon. Photos taken this morning by of our son Murray who has not seen me on a horse for many years.

21.01.2022 Versatile Show Lorry. Authentic heritage lorry suit single horse or pair. Shown in Melbourne and Brisbane Royals. Winner of Supreme horse drawn turnout at Gatton on several occasions. Melbourne hub brakes. Wheels tight and sound. Wooden floor in excellent condition. As new single show harness and collar available now. Pairs show harness available when horses are sold. More details, photos and/ or prices contact via message or phone 0428718119

20.01.2022 After a long tussle between heart and head my head has prevailed. More info in comments

20.01.2022 Good luck in your future life Liza and Vera. We've had a lot of fun with you.

20.01.2022 A lovely surprise in our email today. Thank you to all who nominated and supported us. Yes Clydesdales can mix it with the best.

18.01.2022 Yes Valhalla Clydesdales have some lovely thoroughbreds too. Our lawn was the first to respond after the rain and the "garden gnomes" didn't take long to find it.

17.01.2022 Nothing like a satisfied customer!!

15.01.2022 They say "a picture paints a thousand words" so I don't need to caption these. Just compare them with my previous photos. We haven't had a lot of rain, just 122mm but what a transformation it has made. Yes, I know the horse in the vehicle is not a Clyde but he thinks he is.

15.01.2022 We had a nice surprise on our email today. We did not even know that we were nominated, let alone become finalists in the Southern Queensland Brides Choice Awards. Thank you to those kind couples who nominated us.Liza and Vera will be very pleased when I tell them that their patience and presence are so appreciated. Actually they are so busy eating the fresh green grass after much needed rain that they surely will skip the invitation to the cocktail party but Barry and I will happily proxy for them.

13.01.2022 We have been here seven months now. In that time we have done a lot of cleaning, clearing and fencing. Glen Avon is now available for agistment, spelling or stabling. We have renovated the units so if you are travelling with horses and need somewhere to stay overnight and have your horse/horses safely yarded close to your accommodation, Glen Avon may be your answer. Units with or without the yards also available for longer term. We are just five km from Southbrook in the heart of "horse country".

12.01.2022 Three Clydesdales, one cross bred Clyde X Thoroughbred, two ponies and one yearling Thoroughbred. It's almost like the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" All having fun at Valhalla Clydesdale's this morning. I love this horse walker.

06.01.2022 Hi Friends, We have been "off the air" for months as we've been really busy moving from one property to our new one. So here are a few shots of Valhalla Clydesdales and a few select thoroughbreds' new home - and they love it. Yes it is very dry as the last (and only) rain for summer was on Boxing Day but nevertheless there is a good coverage of brown grass on the uncultivated paddocks. Thirty plus years ago Glen Avon was a premier thoroughbred property founded by Fred Brown standing 7 stallions, employing 11 full time workers and running 200 brood mares. Then it was 800 acres. It has changed hands a couple of times, has had portions sold off and has been sadly neglected but it is still beautiful country. We are very pleased to be here.

05.01.2022 This thoroughbred filly (Hidden Dragon x a Searoad mare)is a week old in this photo taken today but she kept us waiting over seven weeks past her probable due date. Needless to say we were a bit concerned but she is perfectly healthy and amazingly, is a filly. As she was so overdue, we were expecting a colt.

04.01.2022 Yes we do still have Clydesdales but the little creamy ponies are visitors and the big black mare is my beloved Philadelphia (Clyde x Thoroughbred) They all came through winter in great condition despite the dry conditions until October.

02.01.2022 Glen Avon Lodge under new ownership/management. In the heart of horse country. Yes it's dry at the moment but we can irrigate yards to create a "green pick". Safe secure yards. Agistment available. Self contained unit available adjacent to yards for those travelling with horses.

01.01.2022 Some photos of the last wedding we will do with Vera and Liza before they leave us for their new home in Southern NSW. Note that I am not on board because on Easter Sunday I Had a farming accident which landed me in hospital with concussion, broken collar bone and cracked vertebras - making a painful recovery. Thanks to Shane Connolly for helping Barry on the day.
