21.01.2022 Just a quick one. As most of our team will be off at The 2020 Flying Kiwi Cup tomorrow, the gym won't be open for our usual Saturday hours. If you want to see some great powerlifting, head in to Queen St Mall to watch this awesome event.

17.01.2022 Got $5/month and want to support the most worthwhile cause you will find in strength sports? Help Flying Kiwi Fitness with their planned documentary!

12.01.2022 Ladies of Lifting done and dusted! We love small comps where we can spend some time making sure all our competitors have a great time, and we think today was no exception. We also raised around $200 for Women's House Shelta, a very worthwhile charity.... We'll tally the results up with @burleystrength and have a national score sheet done soon! #takemetoVALHALLA

11.01.2022 Aggregated results from Ladies of Lifting 2020. Reposted from @burleystrength Ladies of Lifting is done for another year! We couldn’t be happier to see more badass women crushing it on powerlifting platforms across the country!... Bring on 2021. #wearegurley #takemetoVALHALLA

11.01.2022 The best powerlifting event of the year - the 2020 Flying Kiwi Cup. Athletes throwing down some great numbers, 100% crowd participation and the best vibe you'll see at a strength sports event. This is what it's all about.... #flyingkiwicup2020

04.01.2022 Cannot wait! Reposted from @the_flyingkiwi Our reaction when we realize there is only 10 sleeps until the next Flying Kiwi Cup! Queen Street Mall here we come! -... If you want to get involved or even just come and watch, let us and our friends helping us host @valhalla_strength_sth_bne know below! - See more

04.01.2022 I'm not saying we opened a gym just so we'd be able to pat all the doggos which visit. ...I'm not not saying that though. #takemetoVALHALLA

03.01.2022 Preeeaaaach! Reposted from @pursuitphysiotherapy A foam roller can't fix the fact the you tried PBing your deadlift 3 times this week, whilst avoiding your stability work and accessory lifts and the fact you haven't slept more than 5 hours a night since you were 10. Neither will massage or dry needling. ... Foam roller won't fix stupid and neither can I. DO THE DAMN WORK, EAT THE FOOD AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE GO TO BED ON TIME.

03.01.2022 Among all the activities on the weekend, our absolute workhorse @ali_d1972 set another huge total at Static Monsters. Great work as usual! Reposted from @ali_d1972 My best lifts of the day for @static_monsters 82.5kg Log and 200kg axle deadlift, would have liked more but still happy with that for an old girl, thanks to @cfresonate for hosting, @rerr_lifts_things @trashman_fitspo @lydspt @natfrankcombe10p4l for @priscusfogagnolo Anna, Logan and Patrick for a great day

01.01.2022 As we're working on our 2020 competition calendar, we're looking at our venue for the 2020 Brisbane's Strongest Man and Woman (which will be moved forward into the end of February in 2021). We have a choice currently, but are looking for competitor feedback - if you could let us know your thoughts, this would be greatly appreciated! Option 1 - outdoor competition.... Positives - wider range of events, much greater number of spectators. Negatives - it's Brisbane in February. It's either hot, or raining, or both. Option 2 - indoor competition. Positives - shade, should be much cooler. Negatives - narrower range of events, and limited spectators.

01.01.2022 Reposted from @pursuitphysiotherapy OVERHEAD MOBILITY If you are struggling to reach overhead due to stiffness or pain, try this mobility exercise ... Aims to improve a combination of thoracic mobility and shoulder mobility. Try 10-15 reps with a 5s hold, 3-5x a week. Ideally at the start of your session, pre activation. Other things that can help are strengthening the muscles that stabilise your shoulder blade. The odd bit of hands on therapy can help if you are really locked up. Dob your mates in and tag them below if they have less than desirable overhead mobility.
