16.01.2022 It may seem as if I can do a handstand comfortably but it is still something I work on regularly. It's one of my goals to be able to hold it comfortably for 20 seconds by the end of the year. Everyone should always have something to aim and strive for - no matter how big or small. It could be a new deadlift PB, your first pull-up, walk 10 mins everyday or learn a new skill. No matter what the goal we are all individual, yet we all should have a little something we strive to... improve or accomplish. It's always good to have long and short term goals - I know that I find myself more motivated when I have a purpose directed towards my training. #goalplanning #valkyriefitnessperformance



15.01.2022 Staying consistent and motivated can be our greatest challenge. Real life issues, work, fears, friends and family can often take over and we find ourselves on the backfoot - feeling unmotivated. There will be days where all we have is 0% motivation and everything just feels too hard and difficult. It's important to try remain consistent and maintain a balanced life. Even if you aren't feeling energetic, drained from the week, or something is troublesome in your life righ...t now - it's ok. There are so many factors that effect our mentality - sleep, food, water intake, stress, weather, menstrual cycle etc etc etc. There are days and weeks when I totally feel this way but it's important NOT TO QUIT! Find the time, try stay on track! A good workout can remedy alot of our issues mentally, re-trigger that motivation and desire and most importantly- get you back on that horse!! Remember everything negative is only temporary. Keep working out! Maintaining good habits eventually become second nature! Find your 'me' time and instead of trying to clear your head and escape your problems by getting lost in your phone or a movie on the couch - go to the gym and flush that negative energy OUT! 15.01.2022 Happy Monday! Just to remind you all of the importance of downtime! Just getting OUTSIDE even for a hour and finding your own time to escape the daily grind can really recharge the batteries. Removing yourself from other people's lives and truly being in touch and having a moment for yourself, does not make you selfish - it enables you to be aware of how YOU are feeling and gives you the opportuniy to be a better version of yourself for all around you, including yourself. It...'s essential to relax and reflect and really get in touch with yourself and have a moment to just - be. We often get so caught up in our lives and routines and find ourselves wanting to just 'relax' on the couch or at home. Getting outside and having that same moment by the beach, creek or waterfall or just an afternoon walk is so much more beneficial for you instead of doing it on the lounge. Here in Cairns we are so lucky to have so many beautiful options around us. Being able to escape all distractions (people, phones, tv) and just tune in with yourself can really change the course of your day or week for the better. Having these peaceful moments and being in tune with yourself can really help us to better navigate our day or week in a much more positive manner. Its important to escape our reality, close our eyes and just get lost in the moment. Find your happy place. Then visit it from time to time. Have a great week! #cairns #personaltraining #downtime

02.01.2022 The COVID-19 has had a massive negative impact globally - almost every aspect of our lives have been somewhat changed. Even my own business has been hard hit. When all this first started I was confused, sad, angry etc. There were not many positive aspects I could see - worrying about how I could survive financially through all this, with all the unknowns and how long it would last. But day by day, to be honest - life has gotten better. I'm enjoying more time to myself. ...I'm enjoying being able to renovate our house. I'm enjoying going on hikes with and exploring new walking tracks weekly and taking my dogs swimming every day. In every negative there are some elements of positive. Try find it and you'll find yourself smiling everyday. Who knows...even maybe when things go back to normal I may miss a part of this life now.
