25.01.2022 Gratitude post. The perils of sink holes displayed today with a close call- only a bruise. I’m very careful to train all staff about sink holes in Lucerne, then fell foul of one myself. The dry conditions make them more prevalent. I think this one was on its way to China. Bike will be checked out but appears ok. One fencing reel definitely a write off.

22.01.2022 What kind of cows your milk comes from: Last night my Husband & Mom finished milking so Dad & I could go home & shower and go to a wake....I wrote out directio...ns on how to do milk house after and left. On the way home though....I realized all the things I didn't write down that would make their milking go SO much smoother. Things like how 4822 needs extra massaging & stripping to let her milk down faster. Or how 18 & 55 will only come in the right side of the parlor while 495 & 31025 prefer the left. 3421 & 319 will ALWAYS come in 1st for you. Things like T11 & 721 always try to come in last. Don't let them. They just want to kick you there. 593 & 595 will run you over in the holding pen. Avoid at all cost. 4812's machine will squwak the entire time. No matter what. I'm sorry. T2 & 584 need milked on manual & 31029 is the best anchor cow you've ever seen so save her for last. And it dawned on me that I just want the average consumer to know...Your milk doesn't come from a cow that got a machine slapped on her & sent away for the day. Your milk comes from Sweet cows & Sassy cows. From 1st time Mommas & old grandma cows. Your milk comes from cows who have a loving home & a farmer who knows everything about them from their birthday to how many calves she's had, her personality & where she got that scar from on her back right teat. Your milk comes from cows who have seen their farmers happiest days or listened to them cry during milking, just trying to make it through. Your milk comes from happy cows, who are well taken care of & respected they're entire lifetime here. To learn more about me & my girls check out my Instagram @ashlyb_larsonfarms

22.01.2022 Swim time with Meg & Ted

20.01.2022 Like the dog on the Tucker box, Jess is loyal and steadfast. The Kubota had a tyre problem early this morning getting the cows up and had to be abandoned down in the paddock. Jess has been sitting in it loyally for about 4 hours now, patiently waiting till it gets going again. Her Kubota loyalty cannot be questioned.

16.01.2022 End of a hot day. Enjoying some delicious home made ice cream - made by our wonderful Darren Williams. Yummy

13.01.2022 Happy birthday Andrew Goulding. It’s worth coming to work on your birthday- treats from Leitchville Red Gum Bakery!

09.01.2022 What you find when cleaning out calf water troughs! 4 big yabbies - we put them in there years ago and have forgotten about them. Darren took this video, after they gave him quite a fright! These little guys are back in their trough ... helping to keep it clean for our calves to drink See more

07.01.2022 Connor has had a little girl! (AltaMelvin daughter) How exciting in these COVID times. Doesn’t seem like two years ago Connor McCurry

04.01.2022 Meet Ghost She is a tiny little Speckle Park heifer born a little early and quite tiny. But she is a real trooper, drinks well and acts like she’s just one of the crew even though she’s half their size. She has melted hearts, particularly Marnie’s.

03.01.2022 Sitting on top of the world - vetch silage covering time at Valley Creek. Always good to be putting away feed in these dry times.

01.01.2022 This is Buttress. She is a very funny cow. She loves a pat and at times is so tame and confident she is a little bit hard to deal with. Sometimes she thinks we are her calf and likes to give us a lick. Go Buttress.
