18.01.2022 More great work from our VLI Diesel service crew. These Driftrunners came in to our Beresfield workshop from Centennial Springvale, and have undergone a Code D and Mini Overhaul. New work includes a stainless filler neck upgrade, upgraded flange flametrap, a diff overhaul and a fresh coat of paint. Tom Rapp, the son of one of our Drillers Ben, performed a variety of tasks throughout the week, including assisting on a S1000T Drill Rig Code, general mechanical repairs, a downhole motor performance test, as well as working alongside our Engineering and Technical Services team members. 15.01.2022 Fatigue a shared responsibility In the current situation where there are heightened levels of anxiety and concern in the community, and our focus may be elsewhere. It is easy to lose sight of other hazards that we may be exposed to on a daily basis, and one example of this is fatigue. The need to monitor and manage fatigue is far more than just a workplace issue and the failure to manage fatigue can have devastating consequences on ourselves, families and friends. We though...t this would be a good opportunity to highlight some fatigue facts: - Being awake for 17 hours is the equivalent of having a blood alcohol level of 0.05. - Being awake for 20 hours is the equivalent of having a blood alcohol level of 0.10. - Fatigue contributes to 20-30% of all deaths on the road. This means it is as major a contributory factor to the road toll as speeding and drink driving. - Fatigue is four times more likely to contribute to workplace impairment (including driving tasks) than drugs or alcohol. However, unlike drugs and alcohol which can be measured to assess risk, measuring and thus combating fatigue in the workplace is a challenge. Look after yourself, you friends, and your family by being mindful of fatigue.

15.01.2022 After the challenges of last year it's great to see our Drilling division’s hard work paying off early in 2021, with several underground drilling projects recommencing this year. These include our valued clients at Simec Tahmoor South, Peabody Wambo, and an important job underway at Yancoal's Moolarben Coal. These projects, along with our other long term contracts at both of our Anglo operations - Aquila and Grasstree, and at Yancoal's Ashton Coal, are just the beginning of a safe and productive 2021 for us, with more projects in the works. Two Driftrunners & JUG-A-0 loaders came in to our Emerald workshop from one of our local customers in Central Queensland, and have undergone Code D’s and full Overhauls. This includes engine rebuilds, diff overhauls, re-hosing, and a full strip down, sandblast and paint. The machines are now back on site providing our customer many more hours of service.
