19.01.2022 Get high... on nature! Combine your Tree Top Walk adventure with a climb to the top of the towering fire lookout trees located in Pemberton's stunning national parks! The Gloucester Tree, in Gloucester National Park, was chosen as a fire lookout in 1947, one of a network of lookouts built in the karri forest between 1937 and 1952. The Gloucester Tree was named after the then Governor-General of Australia, His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester, who was visiting Pemberton a...s the lookout was being built. Today, visitors can climb up the 153 spiralling rungs to the platform at the top for sensational views over the forest canopy! The Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, in the Warren National Park, was first pegged in 1988 as part of Australias bicentennial celebrations. At 75 metres and with 165 pegs, it is the tallest of the fire lookout trees with a 360-degree views over the surrounding old growth karri forest with glimpses of the Yeagarup Dunes and the coast beyond! For more info about the Gloucester Tree please see: https://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/site/gloucester-tree For more info about the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree please see: https://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/s/dave-evans-bicentennial-tree Pics via Instagram
