25.01.2022 Creating zoos on a wet Tuesday afternoon.
25.01.2022 STEM It is quite an engineering feat to tunnel under a sand hill. You need a plan, then work together using sand of just the right consistency, then tunnel with extreme care. Sometimes you may need to try again, and then the joy of success.
24.01.2022 Valley Preschool starts back on Wednesday 27th January. We look forward to seeing you all. Drop offs remain the same as last year, kiss and drop.
20.01.2022 Watching our plants grow. Continuously the children have checked in on them to see how they were growing. It took a while at the start but they have sprouted and are thriving.
20.01.2022 A great community event to finish off the year. Cant wait to see you all there.
16.01.2022 Pattern creating. We find patterns in math, but we also find patterns in nature, art, music, and literature. Patterns provide a sense of order in what might otherwise appear chaotic. Researchers have found that understanding and being able to identify recurring patterns allow us to make educated guesses, assumptions, and hypothesis; it helps us develop important skills of critical thinking and logic.
16.01.2022 Please share our sustainability work to our community. It would be a great opportunity for our community to touch base and learn from each other.
16.01.2022 Paper daisy painting. Offering real lif painting and drawing for children can often show us how their minds view the world so differently to adults.
16.01.2022 Fine motor manipulation, squishing and squashing, rolling and flattening. Without all the play dough and sensory play we explore at preschool children’s fine motor skills would not be ready to begin to start writing in kindergarten.
15.01.2022 Finding ochre at the river has been an on going experience. The search for ochre can take a while as they are often small and hidden away. The children have found that wetting the ochre and breaking it up is the best way to use the orche as paint. There has been rock painting, body painting, stick painting and face painting all initiated by the children.
14.01.2022 Catching loads of fish in the river.
14.01.2022 River day. We have to get creative at the river as we don't take many resources down. Luckily gumboots make a great container to catch water. Next week we will bring some buckets down.
13.01.2022 We wish all our families and community a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
10.01.2022 Happy holidays. We hope you all have a safe and relaxing holidays and jump into a few puddles together with our children.
10.01.2022 Soredough starter all ready for Saturdays workshop! Who's excited to try delicious spur dough? And learn to make your own
08.01.2022 Exploring mathematics concepts, full, empty, heavy, light. The bases of STEM, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, have been looked at with the children moving water from the tank to the sandpit. There have been many discussions on the best way to connect the pipes. Working together the children have negotiated rolls and ensured that they get a steady run of water to the sandpit.
07.01.2022 We are excited to be back at preschool tomorrow. Upper Orara Public School is contniuing to be a drop and kiss zone. Please call us when you get to the gate and we will meet you and your child at the gate. Thank you for understanding.

05.01.2022 This is why children need to play and not sit at desks writing. By playing, picking up sticks, handfuls of sand, leaves, dolls and loads of mud children are building the muscles needed for writing when they are ready.
04.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all out fantastic mothers and special people. We hope you had an amazing day and many smiles and hugs.

03.01.2022 I am always amazed at how children, given identical materials, make such unique creations. Playdough is a lovely soothing sensory medium that invites imagination - here you see choc balls, a soft tiger, a boat, stairs with a flag at the top, a brush, Pokemon, a man and a hole for a rabbit.
02.01.2022 Balancing, building and working together at the river.
01.01.2022 Working on fine motor skills outside in the garden. The flowers and grasses are added to the mud pies and ice creams.
