25.01.2022 TOOWOOMBA, THERE'S A NEW CAFE IN TOWN, AND SOON WE WILL BE OPEN!!!!! We couldn't be anymore thankful for our new signage. We are getting very close to havi...ng the shop finished inside to be able to open to the public. We've had a lot of support from local businesses and Help Employment for finding our staff. For most people who are unaware of what we are, I'll provide a brief outline of our goals and what we are aiming to achieve. My Ability Cafe was created to employ people living with disabilities. We aim to provide skills and training in the cafe style environment, providing fresh food, coffee, and catering with the major goal of creating and maintaining stable employment, gaining skills to use in the community and in their homelife. We want our staff to be a big part of the community and social aspects of working in retail. Please like/follow and share our instagram and Facebook pages to keep upto date with how the cafe is travelling and the new exciting things to come. If you have any questions, please send through a message. @ Toowoomba, Queensland

14.01.2022 Can we hire support workers who are not NDIS registered but known and trusted by the person with disability? If you are plan or self-managed you can hire provid...ers who are not registered with the NDIS. Family members cannot be employed as support workers. If you need to change to plan or self-managed, please call us to discuss. This will require a review of your plan. We also recommend you have a written service agreement with your provider in place. 13.01.2022 Ever wondered how novel coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads? Read on, as we explore how the virus spreads and ways to protect you and those around you from becoming sick

07.01.2022 There have been many changes put in place by the NDIS over the last couple of days regarding plans as a result from COVID19. Check out the link below if you haven’t seen the new updates or if you have any further questions during this time.

07.01.2022 Quick supermarket update: Woolworths have updated their website to include a new "priority assistance" feature. People who are eligible for priority assist are:... elderly people with disability people who are self isolating people with compromised immune systems. Woolies says it will prioritise these groups for home delivery. You have to fill in a form, and the website says it might take up to 48 hours to process applications. You can also call 1800 000 610 for help. You can find the form here - https://www.woolworths.com.au//discover/priorityassistance Woolies have also extended the number of items that are restricted to one or two items per customer. You can see the full list on their website - https://www.woolworths.com.au//community/stock-level-update? While we know this won't help everyone it is good to see that they are responding to everyone's concerns earlier in the week. (Image descriptions: 1. A picture of the Woolworths website and their "priority assist" webpage. There are lots of tabs at the top for different supermarket items and a big picture of an older couple in the middle of the page. 2. A screenshot of the Wooworths website homepage in a computer browser. We added a big red circle over the Priority Assistance button so it's a bit easier to find. It's the second button after the carousel of images and writing at the top of the page. 3. A screenshot of the Wooworths website homepage from a smartphone browser. We added a big red circle over the Priority Assistance button there too so it's a bit easier to find. It's the second button after the carousel of images and writing at the top of the page. We don't think there's a button on the App)
