18.01.2022 Spring flowering bulb catalogue is now online! Visit www.vdqbulbs.com.au to put your order in now (but remember all orders will ship in March 2021)

18.01.2022 Liliums are a summer delight. These brightly coloured beauties work well against darker backgrounds like fences and bushes. They also add interest to perennial borders. Plant these lilium bulbs amongst your dormant perennials and let them reach up to the sun to create a brilliant display.

18.01.2022 Such huge and voluptuous bearded Iris in our garden at the moment! We’d love to see what’s looking beautiful in your garden now...

16.01.2022 Aren't peonies just majestic. A fantastic plant for frosty areas of Australia with a mild spring. Plant in rich well drained soil in full sun. If you haven't tried to grow these before, we think the delayed gratification is quite a ride. You will probably find yourself visiting them more than a couple of times before blooming which may not be in the first year. A little care at planting and patience will go a long way. They might take a few years to reach their best, but what a reward! Our large divisions will give you the best start. See our range here: https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/collections/peonies

16.01.2022 Some of you may have already received our latest catalogue packed full of gorgeous spring flowering bulbs. Our online store will go live in the next couple of days- we’ll let you know when it’s up. If you’re after specialty varieties (like the stunning Mascotte pictured here), we recommend ordering early- we’re very likely to sellout. As always, shipping will be in March to ensure optimal bulb quality.

15.01.2022 More amazing Itoh Peonies. See the new range first by getting on our mailing list. https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/pages/contact #tablecapetulipfarm #vandiemenqualitybulbs #itohpeony #peony #peonyrose

14.01.2022 Iberis Gibraltarica, a favourite for bees and other pollinating insects. Flowering mauve & fading white during season with evergreen foliage throughout the year. We post our Perennials in pots, ensuring they make a good start in your garden.

13.01.2022 On our farm today... Everything is looking so beautiful. Choose your weather window and come immerse yourself in colour.

13.01.2022 Some wonderful shots of some of our Itoh Peonies. Late Spring is a very special time for itoh peonies. Here are some of our best new varieties. To put you name on our mailing list click here. https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/pages/contact

13.01.2022 Being known for flower bulb growing we are sometimes told, in jest, that we are not real farmers by our local peers. Here is a couple of photos as evidence that we are still out admiring our lambs and newly sprouted wheat. To maintain crop and soil health, bulbs are not grown in the same place each year. This means bulbs are grown on only 20% of our farm at any one time, with 80% of the land being used to grow other crops. What do you think of the new lamb triplets?

09.01.2022 Peony growers know that the colder the Winter the brighter the more vibrant the Spring. Now's the time to dig into the cool soil and put something away for later in the year. Red Sarah Bernhart will light your garden in full colour, late Spring. With its rich pink and plum tones, and delightful fragrance this full double is sure to impress. Producing an excellent cut flower late in the season. https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/products/rs1

08.01.2022 Allium Atropurpureum now completely sold out... gosh you’ve all been very quick with your orders this year!

06.01.2022 Pink Double Dandy, Itoh Peony. Delightful shades of dusky pink and lavender darkening towards the centre and fading on the edges. Strong stems hold the double flowers above a double flowers above a nicely shaped bush. The Itoh or intersectional Peonies are a hybrid of Herbaceous and Tree peonies producing a longer flowering periods and a bushier more floriferous plant. The Itoh is likely to do better than the herbaceous peony for gardeners in warmer climates who are 'creating' their own frosts. https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/products/ppd

05.01.2022 How gorgeous are these little Mauve Oxalis? They almost look like you can eat them up! Which, if you look into it you often can. Ideal for growing in pots, the plant grows ferny mid green foliage & sports the lovely flowers shown. We're posting Australia wide, www.vdqbulbs.com.au

04.01.2022 SEVERE WEATHER WARNING Thursday the 8th of October is forecast to be extremely wet with up to 70mm of rain predicted. We strongly suggest you reschedule plans to visit on an alternative date.

02.01.2022 Our first tulip flowers. Hot Honey Rag is consistently the earliest Tulip and a wonderful sight in early spring. The whole place has come to life in the last few weeks with bulbs. These are outside the office in raised beds that are not getting the consistent cold of the paddock. The main lot are still a long way off, on schedule for season opening in late September.
