22.01.2022 If we free our thinking, we can change the world. Compassion should not discriminate. All animals deserve kindness and a life worth living. But for millions of animals each year, this remains but a dream, impacted by practices born in another era. Our choices can change their world.... By using our power as consumers and making kinder choices, all Australians can bring animals back into the circle of compassion. We’re ready to choose compassion. Let’s free our thinking and change the world. ----------- It’s been an exceptional privilege for VANDAL to work with Australia's leading animal protection society, Animals Australia, on this landmark campaign via LOUD. 13.01.2022 I’m looking to paint a mural and Vandal said great; we have a wall. - Aley Wild VANDAL proudly commissioned artist and illustrator Aley Wild to bring to life a ginormous mural on the western facade of the VANDAL studio. Hayling from San Francisco, Aley Wild’s illustrations focus on embodiment, diversity and feminine power. The mural titled ‘Sweet Surrender’ stretches 8 metres long and 6 metres tall, and was painted over a 5 day period.... The mural is based on a drawing I did a while ago. I was imagining my ideal emotional, support animal... a really fluffy, big and happy lion with a fluffy pom pom head who I can lie on. ‘Surrender’ is a theme which I’ve been dealing with a lot in my art and personal life this past year. That’s where the giant jellyfish floating above the woman and the lion come from. I feel wonderful! I’m so used to working in a sketchbook and looking at my work on an iPad or computer screen. It is really great to see my art on a large wall. I feel proud of that. People are reacting really positively. I found the whole experience a great way to get to know the people in the neighbourhood. Aley Wild’s ‘Sweet Surrender’ forms part of the VANDAL Street art Series and complements the work of street artists Borris Biberdzic @studioborris and George Hambov aka @apeseven. ‘Sweet Surrender’ is a teaser for Aley’s solo exhibition at VANDAL Gallery in March. Keep your eyes peeled for this one! Painted with Permaplastik, made by Colormaker Industries - your local Peninsula paint company. Compliments of VANDAL CG Lead and VFX Supervisor Mick Watson, this is but a snapshot of the amount of work it takes to make pigs fly. Based on the original concept via LOUD, it’s been an exceptional privilege working alongside Animals Australia Director of Strategy, Lyn White ( Animals Australia ), to bring this campaign to life. Thank you for the trust you have place...d in VANDAL to assist you in crafting this emotional 2 minute film, over many months. By using our power as consumers and making kinder choices, all Australians can bring animals back into the circle of compassion. Let’s free our thinking and choose kindness. *SOUND ON.
