25.01.2022 One of my favourite things to work with is felt! Add to that one of my favourite color combos red , blue and white. This peice is blocked in furr felt! A slanted pillbox shape. A higher grade quality than traditional wool felt, it’s a lot softer. It’s trimmed with white leather handmade roses and has a check trim leaf with navy leaves! A versatile peice! $240

16.01.2022 Hope everyone is staying safe. I am devastated that our trip to Perth has been grounded but I’m making the most of social distancing and finishing a few tasks. Also had 2 new hat blocks arrive today and already have one outside drying. I’m sitting here now blind sewing in a silk hat liner! What’s the difference between mass produced and a vanessa joy piece. Individuality, creativity and thousands of hidden hand stitches.Stay safe people!

09.01.2022 WHY DONT I GLUE Most of my clients understand that my pieces are handmade! This morning I have spent about an hour stitching in this banding to finish off my hat. Yes I propably could have glued it, it would have been considerably quicker but I love the quality that hand stitching gives me! Headwear made with individuality using traditional Millinery techniques
