It's really enabled me to own my role as a Coach and Consultant. I had years of experience in the Sales/Cold Calling space, and now I'm able to 'impart my wisdom' and really help people, which inspires me every day! What’s the best business or financial advice you’ve received/heard/read? I'll have to share a piece of sales advice given what I do. And that is 'the person who talks the MOST in a sales situation, is LOSING the sale!' If you keep this in mind, it will transform the way you sell, and the results you produce. And who gave you that advice? My first Boss after graduating University. She ran a sales firm and became a sale/business mentor to me. What’s something you WISH you’d known earlier in your business journey? To never discount myself or my services (and it's something I teach my Coaching clients!) 12.01.2022 I have a confession. I’m a Christmas-tragic. I love everything about Christmas And subsequently, the amount of attention and energy I give Christmas preparation is the butt of jokes in my household.... [I started preparation weeks ago, how about you?] But, I was thinking that other day as I brought the tree out of hibernation in the garage, this obsession isn’t all bad. In fact, it has a purpose. I have a very clear vision of how I want Christmas to be: how I want it to look, feel, be remembered each year. So I put in the hard yards to make that happen. I hope that when my guests see the amazing tree, and fastidiously wrapped gifts and carefully positioned decorations, they immediately feel the festive spirit. But they don’t need to be aware of how it all happened. And I don’t mind the many incremental steps to getting there. The weeks of forethought and the less-than-glamourous moments (like dusting off the cobwebs and inspecting for live spiders on the tree I’ve left unattended in the garage for 11 months), In Christmas, just as in business, the small things matter. The guests or clients don’t need to know what happens behind the scenes, but the behind the scenes is everything. Habits. Rituals, Processes, Traditions. They matter. My habits and systems over the next few weeks reinforce the Christmas vision I have. And even the smallest task completed each day goes towards that end vision. It’s like knowing you have to make cold calls in your business and committing to even just one per day. Every little activity counts. One of the focusses I have with clients is creating and maintaining small habits, and it’s one of the things I’ll be teaching in my #Funtorun program next year. You’re welcome to join!
