22.01.2022 Just sayin’......

18.01.2022 Some more breaking supermarket news this morning ... The Minister for the NDIS has announced that NDIS participants will now be given priority for home delivery from supermarkets. From tomorrow NDIS participants will be able to order on line and have their shopping delivered to their door.... All participants will be sent a code by text or email tomorrow. You can then order your shopping on line and enter the code when prompted. This is available for all Woolworths, Coles, IGA, Foodworks and Harris Farm supermarkets. This is available to ALL NDIS participants. If your child is an NDIS participant you may also use the service. There is more information here - https://www.ndis.gov.au//4703-priority-home-delivery-servi There are questions and answers here - https://www.ndis.gov.au/cor/priority-home-delivery-services Media coverage here - https://www.smh.com.au//supermarkets-set-to-prioritise-foo This is fantastic news for NDIS participants and their families. We have heard lots of stories about people having trouble with their shopping and this will really help. We hope this kind of assistance will be extended very soon to all people with disability, regardless of whether they are an NDIS participant or not. Please share so we can get the word out. 09.01.2022 Have you ever been stuck on the phone with less than optimal call quality? Perhaps you’re in a crowded place with a lot of background noise, when suddenly you have to spell out your name or address. How do you deal with this? Do you use the old ‘phonetic’ spelling alphabet, such as Alfa Bravo Charlie, or do you use your own version? https://www.atlasobscura.com/articl/best-spelling-alphabet

06.01.2022 An online appeal has been launched to find special toys and support for children with disabilities, who have had to flee with their families as bushfires descen...ded on their homes. A New South Wales federal senator has issued a call-out to people in fire-ravaged communities through social media, asking them to get in touch with her office if they needed help finding sensory toys for children with autism. 05.01.2022 At a time when we’re all a bit lost and not quite sure what we’re doing, I am humbled by people’s dedication to their therapy. Just had a voice client who zoomed in from their car. The sound quality wasn’t ideal, but we got by. Feeling very lucky to have people like that on my caseload.

04.01.2022 Important information about changes to service delivery. Enjoy your next speech pathology session from the comfort of your own home! x

04.01.2022 Due to changes in circumstances in these crazy times, I have been able to free up some spaces from Monday to Wednesday in the morning. This is perfect for those little guys who generally crash out in the afternoons, or for anyone else who finds their afternoons filled with work commitments. All services are currently provided using Telehealth (videoconferencing), and we’re all just waiting to hear further news on Medicare rebates. Fingers crossed, my friends.....Maybe there is a silver lining in all these clouds after all
