17.01.2022 COVID-19 Guidelines - Update Last week QLD announced a limit on public gatherings within the BCC to a maximum 10 x people at any one time in an undivided outdoor area. Having made further inquiries (today) with QGOV it was stated to Scott that this restriction does not apply to Vanguard as it is operating under an approved COVID-19 mitigation plan through the Department of Education. As a result Vanguard training will continue as is until further notice. To re-iterate our cur...rent COVID-19 training guidelines: 1) No physical contact / standing next to each other when not actively bouting. 2) We have wipes / hand sanitiser available each training night for use by individuals. 3) If feeling unwell do not attend training. 4) If just not wanting to take any risk..feel free to remain at home. 13.01.2022 Over the weekend Vanguard participated in an inaugural local historic fencing competition. We enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Our thanks to Prima Spada School of Fence for inviting us to take part. It was also great to see so many fencers from Brisbane School of Iberian Swordsmanship, School of Historical Defense Arts, and Brisbane Swords competing. Thanks also to Ellen & Jessica for their officiating and Scott & Kristian for their marshaling. It was a great day and we look forward to similar events in the future.

11.01.2022 A timely reminder of our wet weather policy. In short, of you don't feel comfortable driving in it, training is off. If it's raining but you're ok driving in it, training is on. I'll be there regardless.

Tomorrow will focus on Rapier and Dagger beginner basics for our new scholars and revision on sound technique for the free scholars. ... New skills, new friends and new bruises await!

09.01.2022 Our next intake is scheduled for Wednesday 5th July at Oakleigh State School, Ashgrove at 7:30pm. Wednesdays are our main training night and is focused on Sword & Dagger combat. Monday's are our general practice night giving students a chance to develop their skills.... 09.01.2022 Here are Vanguard's Festival of the Sword participants for 2017 (minus Kristian who had to fly early). We took 5 medals, learnt heaps and have much to share back at the academy. Grand times!
