22.01.2022 Staff at our Bowen-based BHP COVID-19 Testing Centre are lucky enough to be enjoying the wonders of the tropical north. Recently they discovered a turtle floating in Greys Bay in Bowen with fishing line around her neck and front fins. She was rescued and taken care of, fed up and then released. Nursing Unit Manager Leanne was offered to bring the team along to watch the release back into the ocean. The IRIS program will deliver their 500th cataract surgery in Katherine on 23rd November and is estimated to exceed its target by nearly 10%. If it wasnt for COVID-19 this figure may have been as high as 20%! With so many government funded programs failing to achieve their targets, IRIS is a true shining star in the galaxy of government health initiatives.
