19.01.2022 Last week our Employment Pathways Coordinator, Kate, ran a workshop for youth in the Toowoomba Community. This workshop focused on communication to prospective employers and resilience in applying for jobs. With help from Betina from YellowBridge QLD, Robbie from Link and Launch and Jordan, from New Hope Toowoomba, we had 9 people attend the workshop.

15.01.2022 Kate and Larissa with Shane from Base Services - dropping off a haul of food and goods collected by our staff over the last two weeks. These supplies will be given to people currently doing it tough on our region's streets. If you, your family, or your workplace would like to help, Base is always looking for non-perishable food stuffs and various hygiene products, which can be dropped off to their Neil Street HQ.

10.01.2022 Last week we had the privilege of attending outgoing YellowBridge QLD CEO Penny Hamilton's final AGM. It was wonderful to hear the tributes flowing in for Penny, who has worked so hard for the Toowoomba Community, and to see all those diligent YellowBridge staff who were honoured for their achievements on the day. We very much look forward to working closely with incoming CEO Adrian Bonica to help improve the lives of vulnerable people on the Downs.

07.01.2022 Unveiling the winners of our Pedometer Challenge - Misghna, Ibrahim, Derek and Kadaan. We tried to boost our daily steps to improve our mental and physical wellbeing. Derek finished first, completing more than 150,000 steps! Derek walked to and from work each day to help boost his number, well done Derek! 07.01.2022 Last night we officially opened our newly developed Social Impact Centre at Vanguard Laundry. Made possible through the generous funding from The John Villiers Trust, this wonderful space will enable our staff to further participate in work skills training and development opportunities to improve health, housing, employment and training outcomes. A special thanks to The John Villiers Trust, Emerge, Gus Eagleton, Angela Smith Interiors and Hutchinson Builders for bringing this valuable resource to life for our staff.

06.01.2022 A big thank you to RTO Strategix Training for providing onsite training to our staff. James is half-way through completing his Cert III in Process Manufacturing. James's goal is to attain formal qualifications that reflect the work skills he has gained at Vanguard, to further his career. Opportunities like this help us support our staff to build their work skills, develop confidence in the work place and find sustainable long term employment in their chosen field.
