23.01.2022 Ah it’ is raining ....Chicken mushroom , corn and ginger soup rice noddles w/ Asian herbs RoastedPumpkin, sweet potato carrot and coconut soup yoghurt and coriander Black lentil dahl w/ root vegetables,chickpeas cauliflower brown rice papadums and date tamarind chutney Safe travels over the long week end .



23.01.2022 Oh it feels like it’s about to snow!!!...2 soups, a lentil chickpea cauliflower dahl are in the making along with local Tarago 1st of the season truffle scrambled eggs ...all on the specials board tomorrow Cakes coming out tomorrow morning include Chai spiced carrot, pear ginger amd date, mandarin and cardamom along with banana fig and nut bread Of course there is always daily baked scones with inhouse raspberry jam and blueberries muffins Stay warm, drive safely and embrace the pitiful weather, it’s invigorating open from 8am-2pm till Monday x

23.01.2022 It’s been a challenge over the last 6 months and I said I’d never do it, but I’m opening a shop front in Braidwood .... Vanilla Catering is moving to the most beautiful courtyard garden behind Altenburg Gallery, a cafe that was originally founded by Nat, Jenny and Angela, it’s something so close to my heart and holds incredible memories growing up in Braidwood, I’m really excited to get back cooking, and doing what I love ..... it’s all in the workings Stay posted xxxx

22.01.2022 It’s been hams /turkey Christmas carols and off site catering for the last couple of days , thanks to my amazing staff what would I ever do without you .... But it’s now Sunday, portebello mushrooms, haloumi , sun ripened tomatoes .... it feels like breakfast time We are open @9am xxx

17.01.2022 Dinner is back!!!! Friday amd Saturday Night from 6pm. I’m thinking Crispy Korean Fried Chicken with kick ass spicy sauce, Steamed Bao Buns with Slow roasted pork belly pickled daikon, carrot and Asian herbs Homemade pork and shiitake spring rolls Sticky lamb ribs all for starters ....... Please check in with the Service NSW QR code before entering the cafe, you do not need their App downloaded on your phone to sign in ... it will automatically redirect you Please don’t move any tables as they are all spaced to comply, however if you would like to join tables for a larger group, ask one of ...our staff and we will organise this for you We have a hand free sanitiser dispenser before you walk into the safe please use it If there are customers at the counter ordering please wait outside in turn, if your waiting for takeaways and the seating inside is all taken can you also please wait outside As much as we loath the idea of not being able to fill keep cups for coffee, at this time it doesn’t comply with our Covid Safety Plan sorry Many thanks, embrace 2021 with gusto, positivity and resilience xxx

06.01.2022 Due to the nature of my business in regards to social distancing, the wellbeing of my staff and guests I won’t be catering till the end of April, this time may increase as the weeks months unfold. On the up side I now have time on my hands to redesign menus, get creative in the kitchen, look at marketing and stream line my business, so I will be up and running for parties, conferences and weddings ( goodness knows that we will be well and truly deserving of massive celebrations when this has been beaten) I’m still taking tentative bookings for later in the year when hopefully we all have a handle on this virus In the meanwhile wishing all my clients , their family and friends good health,and to all of my staff, guys in hospitality and events and businesses effected sending you strength over these crippling months ahead Xxx

01.01.2022 So I was sanding floors today at the cafe and couple thankfully interrupted to ask if I was opening, they had been customers from Nat, Jenny’s and Angela’s 30+ years ago, they reminisced about the cafe and the 1980’s ..... good food never dates gourmet tarts, Nat’s spinach triangles, wicked cakes and they insisted melting moments ....
