09.01.2022 UPDATE 8: DAY 24 Angus had a fantastic day... He had cuddles with Mum in the afternoon and slept the rest. It’s hard work keeping those little lungs going, taki...ng each little breath on his own. Photos below. UPDATE 7: DAY 23 His Oxygen tube has been removed from his little throat and now Angus is wearing some pretty fancy headgear to hold his nose prong in place. Angus is breathing on his own! See pics below. UPDATE 6.1: DAY 20 (Part 2) Just been in to see our Gorgeous Boy and it would seem he heard the talk about his breathing Tube, maybe, getting removed today... And, it would seem he’s not having a bar of it. Little Bugger Anyway, we have been told that he has a bit of an infection in his right lung and has been put on more antibiotics to clear this. He is resting up after a bit of care from the Neonatal Physio while holding Mummy’s hand. Angus had his first ever ‘CUPPING’ today, lucky boy, to help move the flem off his lung. Then his 10.30am feed of 2ml, they are building up his tolerance of Mumma’s milk, again. Amazing what they can do for our mini man... UPDATE 6: DAY 20 Angus is definitely a tough rogue... He’s coming forward in leaps & bounds. Today may see his breathing tube removed from his little throat, if he remains comfortable that is, and replaced with a nasal prong of some sort. He has been weaned off the morphine... the Little Trooper. Plus being a whopping 900grams, some of that is fluid from the steroids, but what does that matter when he’s showing growth. Another day, another Blessing with our Grasshopper. UPDATE 5: DAY 18 Since Day 15 things had not been going well for our Angus... It was touch & go. And, we’ve been at the hospital pretty much day & night, not wanting to leave just in case. But... Wow, it's a rollercoaster ride of emotions with our little man... He is so good today! It's almost like nothing has happened in the last 2 days... Angus & i just had a huge chat about how he feels so much more comfortable & about how happy he is. Oxygen @25% Saturation @96% = He is breathing mostly on his own steam. UPDATE 4: DAY 15 Our little Grasshopper is going Great Guns... He's such a strong mini Munchkin just like his name, Angus - Life's Strength. How cute is he sucking his thumb!!! See video below. UPDATE 3: DAY 9 Angus’s Mummy changed his nappy, wiping all his mini bits & pieces then applying cream to his tiny botty. All while Daddy held him gently so Mummy could bath him too. Daddy fed the little grasshopper and Mummy took his temp from under his little armpit. And, Angus stayed calm throughout enjoying his parents company. UPDATE 2: Angus has reached the Grand Old Age of 7days! UPDATE: Angus Alexander Harper was born October 4th, approx. 5.30pm, by C-section to Connie & Jack Harper. He was an enormous 550g x 29.5cm. Presently, both Mother and Child are doing ok. Little steps... Dear Customers... I will be out of the shop until, at least, Wednesday, as my daughter, Connie, who most of you know was married to Jack in May and is now expecting her first baby, has been admitted to hospital very ill with Hellp Syndrome. And, because of her illness they have to deliver their baby today, Oct 4th. He will only be 23.4 wks. Hazel, Sophie, Lee & my Mum will be holding the fort for me until I return.
