22.01.2022 Motors Tasmania, Parmic, Woolworths, Variety Tasmania and many local businesses, community groups and individuals are joining forces to raise $80,000 to support Isla after her life-saving surgery for Rasmussen's Encephalitis. Please join us at Hobart Motors' Holden Muster from the 3rd-6th September. Holden Cars through the ages will be on display on the 3rd-6th September and we will be hosting a sausage sizzle on the 5th and 6th September. Isla has a very rare disease called ...Rasmussens Encephalitis. This disease impacts one hemisphere of the brain, where inflammation progressively destroys brain cells, resulting in multiple seizures, loss of vision, cognitive impairment, hemiparesis and if left untreated, the child could die. The only definitive treatment is a hemispherectomy (which is a disconnection of the right-hand side of her brain). This surgery comes with irreversible consequences, including the possibility that Isla will be vision impaired and partially paralysed. Her family have opted to have the surgery at the beginning of September in Melbourne. To donate to the Isla fundraising and find out more about Rasmussen's Encephalitis visit: https://tasfundraising.variety.org.au/support-a-fundra/isla
