13.01.2022 The rain might have stopped the horse races last weekend but it wasn't enough to put a dampener on the spirits of the group who gathered all in the name of raising money for kids in need! Get Tools Direct had a wonderful turn out to their Race Day and were able to raise an incredible $10,000. A huge thank you to our Windscreen Sponsor Get Tools Direct as well as all of our amazing participants who go the extra mile to raise funds to help change the lives of kids in need.

08.01.2022 Meet the Beatles Chicks - Bash Car # 60! Debbie, Renae, Narelle, and Wendy are joining us this year for their very first Bash and are passionate about giving Aussie kids a fair go. "It's the kids that inspire us, kids that are way less fortunate than our own or our grandkids," said Debbie. "The more we can help kids in any way, the better our world will be for them. Kids make the world go round and are the way of the future."... The team have also received fantastic support from their local community in Wynnum/Manly. Since purchasing their Bash car and putting it out to the community that they are "doin' it for the kids", as they say, the Beatles Chicks have gained a following of supporters that has continued to grow! "I think for us we are fortunate living in a very strong, active and inclusive community," said Debbie. "Our involvement within the business community has certainly helped to open our fundraising doors, without a doubt, and we are very humbled by the generosity of our community. It's important to remember that one doesn't need to own a business to be a respected community citizen. Compassion, care and commitment earns respect, and it's respectful members of any community that people want to follow and support their fundraising efforts." Debbie also knows first-hand the challenges faced by kids who are living with a disability and their families. "As an aunt of a special needs young lady, I know too well the challenges these kids face, challenges their siblings face, their parents and their extended families," she told us. "Special needs kids should not be singled out, nor should sick or disadvantaged kids." Debbie, Renae, Narelle and Wendy are all keen to hit the road and are looking forward to seeing first-hand the impact their fundraising has in the lives of kids in need. "We are all excited to meet the kids along the way, hear their stories and offer hope and encouragement to all kids regardless of their needs," Debbie explained. "We are looking forward to the comradeship of likeminded fellow Bashers. After all we all share the same Variety goals." We've also been told that two Beatles Chicks will be celebrating their birthdays on the Bash in Birdsville! Can you guess who? We can't wait to hit the road with passionate teams like the Beatles Chicks! Will you be joining us too? Secure your spot today at http://varietybashqld.com.au/.

08.01.2022 GAME DAY! Show us how you're supporting the Maroons this year. Can you top this awesome signage from our Presenting Sponsor, Blue Dog Training, or a themed Bash car like the crew from Car 1718? Drop a photo in the comments below of how you're backing your team tonight.

06.01.2022 Meet the crew from Car 163 Priscilla’s Dust to Dory. Madeleine, Branka, Wendy, Colleen, and Lorraine, will hit the road on their first Variety Bash this year with support from their friends, Karen and Andy. In fact, Karen was the group’s inspiration for signing up.... Fighting her own health fiends, Karen called us to action ‘to help the kids’, said Colleen. A few of us had dressed in drag about 12 months ago to raise some flagging spirits, so Karen called for an encore of the drag queens for Variety. Karen and her husband, Andy, have been amazing Andy drove this particular vehicle in a Bash in NSW, so he has given us tips. Karen and Andy have been exceptionally generous getting the car Bash ready for us. The team are looking forward to getting together for the ultimate road trip and are eager to explore some of Australia’s outback whilst making new friends and helping to give Aussie kids a fair go. As a (mostly) all women crew who live in rural and remote Australian communities, who are mothers and grandmothers, we are driven by not just the outcomes for sick and disadvantaged kids, but to promote business and interest in the rural and remote Queensland communities and the wellbeing of women throughout the Bash, Colleen told us. When it comes to fundraising, the top tip from Car 163 is to start planning early. Plan your major fundraising events early to give you time to prepare, they shared. Then hustle hard among the businesses and people you know. Most everyone has a space in their heart for the kids, but they have different ways and capacity to help. Every bit helps so listen and work with businesses and sponsors to make it work. For us, many businesses donated goods. This has meant we are holding a ‘Christmas in July’ event where we will auction these to raise the funds for Variety, so we need everyone to come! A huge thanks to the crew from Car 163 for helping to change the lives of kids in need. We can’t wait to hit the road with you in just a few months!

01.01.2022 Earlier this month, Monte and the crew from Car 27 held their annual Te Moana Lodge Hawaiian Night fundraiser, which raised more than $6,300! The fundraiser has become a 'must do' event for the local Orchid Beach community, featuring delicious hangi food and a spectacular Hawaiian theme! Thanks to the generosity of their sponsors, volunteers and donors who dug deep to help give Aussie kids a fair go, as well as Orchid Beach Progress Association for the use of the community building.
