23.01.2022 This holiday season share in the kindness! Now more than ever, families are under increased strain to cover essential items. This means more Aussie kids will miss out on the freedom, joy, independence and inclusion of owning a bike. The Variety Bikes for Kids appeal this Christmas has been launched because we know Aussies are struggling. From surveying and speaking to our Variety families who are raising kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability in Queensla...nd, we know that they are doing it tougher than ever. Your act of kindness and joy will mean more than it ever has before. Please donate today and give Aussie kids independence and joy by providing them with their first bike. bit.ly/bikes4kids-appeal

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Variety Heart Scholarship recipient Callum who participated at the recent Queensland State Championships for swimming, where he won 6 gold medals! Callum finished in first place for his age group in the 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke. He also set five new personal best times and made the finals for 3 open men's races as well as a finals race in his age group. Callum lives with ADHD, dysp...raxia, auditory processing disorder, a chromosomal deletion and gene mutation, but this has never stopped him from becoming one of the best swimmers in his age group in Australia for para multi-class swimming. Well done Callum and a massive thanks to his sponsor Dr Rachel Green for helping him to unleash his full potential.

18.01.2022 Last week, 13 girls from St Hilda's School, Gold Coast took the chop and donated their hair to our Hair with Heart program. In addition to donating their locks, the girls raised an incredible $11,000 to help give Aussie kids a fair go. This is the third year in a row that students at St Hilda's have rallied together to donate their hair and fundraise and they are determined to continue the annual tradition. A huge thanks to Edwina for organising this year's chop, to the students of St Hilda's for generously donating their hair and raising much needed funds, and to the school for supporting the wonderful fundraising efforts! We'd also like to give a special shout out to Olivia from Hairartboutique for volunteering her time to help. Thank you again and well done to everyone involved!

11.01.2022 A huge thanks to our generous friends at Cash Converters Australia for giving more kids a fair go through our Bikes for Kids program! Kids just like 4-year-old Max. Max is a sibling of one of our Variety grant recipients, Mia, and was recently presented with a brand-new bike thanks to the team at Cash Converters Stones Corner. Max is an amazing young boy who goes above and beyond for his family. His older sister Mia received a modified bike from Variety earlier this year, wh...ich means Max will be able to join his sisters while they ride outside and create some wonderful memories. If you have a child who is deserving of a bike or know someone who is please find out more and apply today by visiting bit.ly/varietybikesforkids.

10.01.2022 What an incredible week it has been - thank you so much to all of our Variety Bash Adventurers and committed sponsors, including Blue Dog Training, Get Tools Direct, Bundaberg Regional Council, Seeley International and Bremer Ford for helping to give Aussie kids a fair go. We have a special message for you from our Variety Youth Ambassador Nathan Donaldson who loved being out on the road with you and getting to know you. Check it out

09.01.2022 Right now, 1 in 6 kids is living in poverty and families are struggling more than ever. Items like bikes for kids are today even more out of reach. Although government assistance is available, gaps in funding for non-essential items mean kids like Lacey-May could miss out on the simple pleasures in life, such as having a bike. And right now, your kindness is more important than ever! Share in the kindness! Donate today at bit.ly/bikes4kids-appeal to enable Aussie kids to experience independence and joy by providing them with their first bike.

08.01.2022 This Christmas you can enhance a child’s social skills: Riding a bike increases a child’s communication skills and gives them an opportunity to make new friends. Whether it’s riding to the park or a friend’s house - sharing laughs, secrets and problems are all part of growing up. Donate to our Bikes for Kids Appeal today to ensure more disadvantaged kids across Queensland are granted their first bike. Visit bit.ly/bikes4kids-appeal
