19.01.2022 Cohen is a gentle natured 5 year old living with a number of disabilities including Autism and Global Development delay. He loves listening to orchestral music and to be in nature, especially watching birds and water animals. Cohen now has a sensory space at home where he can relax and self regulate when he feels overwhelmed. This has helped improve his quality and enjoyment of life greatly Family members, teachers and therapists have noticed an improvement in Cohen’s be...havior since we were able to create this space for him with the Variety WA grant. Thank you for the incredible work you do for children who have it tough. The grant has been life changing for us said Cohen’s mum. 07.01.2022 Jamie, Hayley & Scott all were born with a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. When Jamie reached one years old, doctors weren’t sure if she would ever be able to walk. After two years of physio, hydro and occupational therapy appointments, Jamie was diagnosed with Multi MiniCore Myopathy. Spending time in the pool helped Jamie build her strength, and by the age of three she was able to walk. This was also helpful for her younger siblings, Hayley and Scott. After receiving ...a grant towards a new pool in 2010, the kids were able to do all their hydrotherapy from the comfort of their own home, making things easier for the whole family. It still helps Jamie and her siblings today with maintaining flexibility, movement and good cardio health #throwbackthursday You can help make a difference to other kids like Jamie, Hayley and Scott at: https://www.variety.org.au/wa/donate/
