17.01.2022 Update: Toowoomba International Student Assistance initiative. Grocery kits got delivered yesterday to around 85 Townhouses in the Student Village that houses ...approximately 425 International Students from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Jordon, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Samoa and Cambodia. A big shout out to Nageshwaran M S and Prasanth Kumar, they both have worked non-stop over the last few days in immediately attending and listening to students with urgent needs, packing the grocery kits, knocking nearly 145 student accommodation houses along with Hari Prabu in Toowoomba and supplying them with grocery kits. Yaju Mahida from Gujarati Samaj Toowoomba is another gem of a person who came to assist this initiative, in addition to assisting with fund generation and supply of grocery kits, he has also played a huge part in getting some local media attention in Toowoomba. Thanks to all those who have donated towards this initiative and Orioz Inc and SSK Entertainment for you support with this initiative as well. We have blurred the faces of students who received the kits as we don’t want to publicize them due to sensitivity and this would encourage any students feeling shy to approach us confidently should they require any assistance as well. One world, One Race, let’s win the first battle against the virus by achieving some better outcomes for our International Students. #humanityprevails #in2thistogether Varnam Cultural Society - QLD Varnam Cultural Society Gujarati Samaj Toowoomba ORIOZ

12.01.2022 Varnam Cultural Society - QLD's Stage 1 - Grocery Kit distribution for International Students in Rockhampton has been completed. This initiative is spearheaded by Prasanth Kumar and coordinated by Sriraghav Rangarajan who was involved in personally procuring the groceries, bagging and delivering the kits to International Students in Rockhampton. After discussing with International Students, our team decided to concentrate more on the regional areas due to lack of resources a...nd support available in some of those areas and we believe getting the students to directly lead these initiatives would build a better understanding of the needs of students, build their leadership capability, improve efficiency and responsibility and attain personal satisfaction in supporting those in need. Kudos to all the Leaders (Student Volunteers) involved in the stage 1 of our grocery kit delivery initiatives. Varnam Cultural Society - QLD Varnam Cultural Society

12.01.2022 Amid this Covid 19 restrictions and the likelihood of restrictions being relaxed soon for larger community events being highly unlikely, we have decided to postpone our 2020 Multicultural Tamil & Indian New Year Celebrations further to April 2021. We have to take this decision to further postpone this event in the best interest of our community safety and well being and to avoid any distractions that it may likely cause for other organisation events that are normally held during later part of the year.
08.01.2022 As a result of Australian Government's announcement this afternoon, we have postponed our Springfield Multicultural Tamil and Indian New year celebrations scheduled for the 4th April to be held on a later date. Though distressing, on a positive note our 6 months planning has been extended and we now get more time to plan.... So look forward to even more grander and entertaining event from us... TEAM VARNAM
