The concentrated perfume possesses elements of stone fruit blended with the serious citrus tones of great Margaret River Chardonnay. Displaying pristine fruit characteristics, with precise acidity, creamy mouthfeel and excellent balance, this elegant wine is surprisingly voluptuous for a cool vintage.... 12.01.2022 Friday cellaring recommendation; the 2013 Heytesbury Chardonnay. Drinking incredibly well at seven years of age, this vintage is now opening into lovely secondary characters such as buttered toast and lime marmalade. The persistence of this wine as it meanders off the back palate is remarkable. Seamless, taut, silky and complex, the 2013 vintage is beautiful right now if you have some in your cellar, and also available on the Vasse Felix Restaurant Archive Wine List!
11.01.2022 Over the past few weeks we have undertaken a substantial grafting project in our Vineyards, as part of our continual focus on the two core varieties that perform best in this Region - Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. In just one season we will have grafted approximately 25 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay in our Vineyards thoughout Margaret River. As the grafts start to take off, we will be very busy training and securing them to prevent breakage. An exciting future ahead for these little budwoods.

10.01.2022 Textural, savoury and complex, the delicious 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, awarded 95 points and included in the recent 2021 Halliday Wine Companion Best of the Best; "Sauvignon blanc leads this duet at 82% with almost half the blend spending time in a mix of French oak for 6 or so months. It’s a classy outcome. Superb balance of flavours, it has precision, length and line. A crisp, dry finish quite savoury with a phenolic edge adding another layer of complexity." Best enjoyed with Yum Cha, with a decent hit of chilli heat!

05.01.2022 During our Soil Season (late Autumn and Winter) we turn our attention to the earth, undertaking activities to enrich our vineyard soils and environmental diversity. Our homemade compost program forms part of this focus, helping to build good soil structure and feed microbial life in the soil, enabling healthy vine growth. Now in maturation stage, our compost is sitting at a mild 30 degrees and will stay that way until we spread undervine later this year.
