22.01.2022 This week is National Pain Week, and it is highlighted in world media that a massive shift with pain management is afoot, the huge amount of deaths and addictio...n due to opioid usage is undeniable, and the science is IN around acupuncture's effectiveness with ACUTE and CHRONIC pain. Acupuncture is being used in Emergency Rooms in the United States, and this shift in medicine is expected to gather momentum around the world in hospitals elsewhere. #acupunctureforpain Want to help the global Acupuncture movement? 19.01.2022 In the health world all the talk is about gut health... "From a biological perspective the gut might be the most important organ if you think about what defines life in the broadest terms: the ability to convert energy from your environment,"
18.01.2022 BIG NEWS for acupuncture in the US: 37 attorney generals have signed a letter to the national health insurance lobby to urge *incentives* to doctors to prescribe acupuncture rather than opioids for pain. Hopefully it's successful and other countries will follow suit. It's great to have so much amazing research for acupuncture, but this is how change happens on the ground. Amazing!
18.01.2022 Great to see homeopaths fighting back. They have really been under the pump for the last few years. If people get good results with homeopathic medicine I think that's great and I often see it with my patients who use use homeopathy. If the medical fraternity isn't accepting of homeopathy I think that it's their problem.
16.01.2022 I will be trying some of these fruit and veg growing techniques
15.01.2022 IS DRY NEEDLING DIFFERENT TO ACUPUNCTURE? No. The techniques described as dry needling, intramuscular stimulation or myofascial trigger point needling are specific techniques that have been described in classical and contemporary Chinese medicine literature. Trigger points are defined in these texts as Ashi Points. The first reference of ashi points which literally translates as Ah yes! was by Sun Simiao in his book Qian Jin Yao Fang (Thousand Ducat Formulas) in 652A.D.. over 1300 years ago.

12.01.2022 Weve been in this crazed, antibacterial, antiseptic world where we think bacteria are the enemy, but the right bacteria are our friends, said Dr. Vincent Pedre, an internist in New York City who specializes in gut health. Moreover, it looks like the eradication of helpful bacteria has been especially damaging to children.
11.01.2022 If you have never heard of the EWG's Dirty Dozen List, take the time to check it out? It is a U.S. Based annual ranking of conventionally grown produce with the most pesticide residues.

09.01.2022 Pain can be isolating, invisible to others, and it is often misunderstood. Thanks to the Acupuncture Evidence Project, and the research being published on Acupu...ncture and it's effectiveness, Chronic AND Acute Pain is now recognized around the world as something Acupuncture can treat. So much so, ER Departments in the USA are using acupuncture to treat their patients, and the number of hospitals employing acupuncture to manage pain is expected to rise around the world. Taken from the website, www.nationalpainweek.org.au below, some wonderful feedback at the conference of Chronic Pain Australia on what PATIENTS want to manage pain. Conference 2016 - Westmead Hospital. At the conference last year Professor Stephen Leeder (SL) facilitated a discussion during the afternoon of 29 July and asked the audience: "What would work for you in designing a useful pain service?" This is what they said: "The relationship between provider and receiver of pain management services is crucial for effective pain management. The relationship involves being received, heard and acknowledged. Programs need to be tailored to that person as an individual. Multi-disciplinary teams with a holistic approach so that the person always feels heard and seen as an individual. It's about shared care and a change in direction from clinician being leader to being the coach. Compassionate care." A timely reminder for any health practitioner working with pain, that your approach, communication and care is integral to assisting your patients.
