This look is great for those who are tired of their long, heavy one-length hair (think the time taken to wash and dry those long long tresses!) but are scared to go very short. This style also looks great with balayage colour - oh là là. Styling tip. To create loose waves with straight ends use a 1-inch curling iron or flat iron, then finish with any sort of dry texture spray to get the waves to look natural and lived-in. For those who don't own a hot iron, don't despair and follow our colourist's technique - do two loose pigtail plaits or loose low bun (loose enough that your hair escapes from its elastic binding during your sleep) for at least an hour, loosen and spritz with textured hair spray or sea salt spray - voilà

Think again. By now, most of you would have known firsthand or through friends and colleagues, that balayage, a freehand hair colouring technique, is a favourite among celebs and a great way to get natural-looking highlights.
