25.01.2022 I have been in touch with Gow-Gates regarding the insurance cover they provide. They are as devastated by the collapse of EA as much as the rest of us. At this point, Gow-Gates has not been advised of any disruptions to the cover they provide and, unless you have received anything by mail, email or other means, they believe members should still be covered by their insurance until 30th June. But since this has come so abruptly, they are now trying to contact the administrators... to find out if they are going to be the brokers moving forward. I will continue to be in touch with them over the next few days in order to provide you with as much information as possible. I do urge anyone who has insurance other than Gow-Gates and EA to contact their provider as soon as possible. Again, any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Gillian, Chair, VNSW See more

23.01.2022 VNSW Update: Refunds from State Clinic - We have been in touch with Nominate and they advise that they are still struggling under a huge backlog. They have indicated that they hope to get to our refunds within the next two weeks. VNSW has paid the Nominate charges for all entrants so you should receive a refund of all the money you spent on entering the clinic. If there are any discrepancies, please contact us so we can act on your behalf. The VNSW Committee has made the ag...onising decision to cancel our NSW State Championships. We look forward to our 2021 State Championships next year! The VNSW end of year awards are based on a vaulters' attendance at three or more official competitions. In light of the loss of both the Royal Easter Show competition and the NSW State Championships, the committee has decided that the end of year awards will not be awarded this year. We have also received word from Robyn Boyle that the Scone competition is cancelled and Darryn Federick has informed us that the FEI Challenge scheduled later this year has been postponed until next year. With all these cancellations, it is easy for vaulters to los their motivation and their fitness. There are several ways to encourage your vaulters to keep training. We have seen one group video their barrel and horse routines to get feed back from a judge, we have see movement and dance challenges for vaulters go around the web, and we have seen some vaulters asking judges for their old videos to be reviewed so they have something to work on. I am sure there are many other clever ideas. This is a great time to reach out to a vaulting club in another country and challenge them to a dance-off or similar, as they are in the same position we are. It is also a great time to put together a new routine, design a new unitard, and work on personal strength and balance. Don't wait until tomorrow - start now so when we can once again train and compete together you will be fit, strong and refreshed. Best Wishes to all of you, may you stay healthy and safe. Gillian

23.01.2022 Lastly, we would like to welcome and deeply thank, our Gold Sponsors Equestrian NSW, InSitu Advisory and KOVE. We are very greatful for your support and assitance with our Championship event.

23.01.2022 Most ENSW members will have received the email from Bruce Farrar this morning with reassurances that insurance cover will be maintained. I am sure we all hope that EA can be reimagined soon.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to all our vaulters, lungers, coaches and horses who competed at the 23rd National Vaulting Championship and CVI3* in Scone this past week. It was a fantastic event and well supported by the Australian vaulting community. The city of Scone welcomed us warmly and the Mayor himself spoke at our Opening Ceremony. The venue was excellent and the weather was kind. Even the trains rattling past the stables seemed to disappear in the excitement of the arena. Thank you all for coming and supporting this event. The Committee hopes you have all travelled home safely and your horses are back in their paddocks. Christmas Comp is not far off and Sharna is already working on her program. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

14.01.2022 Statement from the EA Board The Board of Equestrian Australia has taken the difficult decision to place Equestrian Australia Ltd into Voluntary Administration. ...Craig Shepard and Kate Conneely of KordaMentha have been appointed Voluntary Administrators. This follows the withdrawal of funding by Sports Australia, which had formed a view that, until the organisation is both representative of the membership and stable in governance and operation, they could not in good faith continue to contribute public funds. Combined with the impact of COVID-19 on our forecast revenue, this places the organisation at risk of trading insolvently. Clearly, the current EA model does not work. The intent of entering Voluntary Administration is to avoid insolvency, which would be disastrous, and to create the conditions for a successful and sustainable equestrian community into the future. Effective immediately the High-Performance (HP) program will be transferred under the oversight of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). The HP Panel will remain in place, funding returned to the AIS, and the program will continue unabated in pursuit of equestrian gold at the upcoming Olympics. We have been advised that there will be no change to HP staffing arrangements. The Administrators will take control of the remainder of EA. The constitution is effectively set aside in favour of their powers under the Corporations Act. The operations of EA continue without change at this stage and there is no planned loss of jobs. The Administrator will work with the creditors of EA to determine the conditions for exiting Voluntary Administration. This process is intended to be rapid, envisaged by the Corporations Act to take about a month. This will enable EA to rebuild as a viable, representative, democratic and stable national sporting organisation that is retuned to a focus on sport as quickly as possible. In our sport of so many diverse interests, rarely do our branches, committees, and members share a cohesive view. Disagreement, however, should not be destructive. We should strive to improve the structure, the culture, and the performance all in the interests of greater opportunity, participation and enjoyment. The current Directors have agreed to work with the Administrator to rebuild the organisation as quickly as possible. https://www.equestrian.org.au/news/statement-ea-board

13.01.2022 There is a lot of information and a lot of opinion circulating around the EA crisis. It can be difficult to sift through the opinions to understand what is actually happening. This video is by one of the EA Board Members, Helen Hamilton-Smith, who is an accountant and a horsewoman. In it, she explains the financial crisis facing EA. At this moment, what is most important is that as many members of EA vote or submit a proxy in the Second Meeting of Creditors. It seems that Spo...rts Australia requires a large vote/proxy turnout to consider the vote as representative of the membership. This vote is not a vote to decide on which structure will be followed. The restructuring options are simply suggestions to the administrators. Right now, we must decide which DOCA (Deed of Company Arrangement) we should follow - that of the EA board and the administrators, or that put forward by the States (excluding EQ and NT). How do you vote? As a member of EA (and membership has been extended to September 2020, so you are still a member even if you haven't rejoined), you are considered a creditor and have a vote. You need an HRN - Holder Reference Number - and if you don't have one, email [email protected] urgently! Once you have your HRN, log onto EA and you will see "Member Voting: Your Vote Does Count" in the banner on the HomePage. Clicking that link will take you to a webpage titled "Member Voting at the Second Meeting of Creditors: Your Vote Does Count!" At the bottom of that page is a link in yellow "Access the unique creditors' portal to place your vote HERE" Click on: "HERE" and you are taken to a page titled Equestrian Australia Creditors' Portal". This where you enter your HRN to go to the portal to inform your proxy. It is your choice how you vote, or who you give your proxy to. I encourage you to consider both the EA side as well as the State side. What is important is that we ALL vote! DEADLINE IS 12 NOON FRIDAY, 10th July, 2020. THAT IS TOMORROW! I hope this helps with the current situation. VNSW will be watching what happens as these things progress. As always, I am happy to chat and will be available tomorrow after 8am. Get your HRN and get voting... PLEASE!!! Gillian Burns Chair, VNSW

13.01.2022 In these difficult times, some of the requirements we need to meet can be overlooked. Coach registration and updates are one such consideration. EA has announced an extension for coach registration until 31st July, 2020. Please see below more information and a link to the ENSW webpage. Coach Registration and Insurance We are pleased to announce that 2020/21 EA Coach registration will open Monday 29 June 2020.... We understand that this is a very short time frame to re-renew your coach accreditation so we will be extending all current coach registrations to 31 July 2020 this includes extending insurance cover for all coaches who are insured through the EA Coach Insurance Program. Please note, if a coach has not registered by 31 July, they will no longer be an insured, accredited EA coach. https://www.nsw.equestrian.org.au//coach-registration-and-

12.01.2022 The VNSW lunging clinic planned for this weekend has become another casualty of COVID-19. Despite our best efforts, we are unable to offer a complete program so we are choosing to cancel this clinic. Nominate will send through refunds in full (They are choosing not to retain their fees which is considerate). We are now looking forward to next year with a clinic run by SVG on 16th and 17th January, and our next lunging clinic with Sarah Venamore on 13 and 14th of February. In the meantime, stay cool and enjoy your horses!

10.01.2022 Welcome to 2021 and fingers crossed this year will be a bit more fun than last year! VNSW is starting the year off with a lunging clinic. We are hosting Sarah Venamore at Evans Park on the 13th and 14th February which is only 4.5 weeks away. Sarah will be focusing on lunging with some one-on-one lunging sessions, riding lessons for who want them, plus some presentations during the hotter parts of the day. She is also going to "Deconstruct the new Horse Score" which is not to... be missed. In addition, we are hosting Emma Hale, professional turnout groom, who will be teaching all her turnout tips and tricks for presenting your horse. What a great way to start the year by getting the horses ready, trained and beautiful as we head positively into 2021!! This clinic has been sponsored by ENSW and VNSW combined to keep costs as low as possible. Numbers are very limited so we look forward to seeing you there! Entry via Nominate, closing 31st Jan.

10.01.2022 What a wonderful weekend of friends, horses and vaulting at the 25th Silver Jubilee State Vaulting Championships at SIEC this weekend. Many thanks to the organisers Kerrie Stapleton and Jenny Denby for the huge amount of effort and planning they put in. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered a little or a lot of their time. 03.01.2022 Save the Date 2021 Equestrian NSW State Interschool Championships

03.01.2022 Welcome back to day two of the NSW State Vaulting Championships. There are no changes to todays draw.

03.01.2022 As you all know, ENSW has put out a statement on equestrian events: https://www.nsw.equestrian.org.au//ensw-announcement-re-co As a subcommittee of ENSW, we will be following their lead and cancelling or postponing upcoming events. At present, this means our vaulting clinic for April with Daniel Kaiser will be postponed until later in the year or early next year.... VNSW is liaising with Nominate to get all participants their refunds from the clinic. Nominate has alerted us to the fact that they are no longer refunding their processing fees. In order to support our community at this time, VNSW has chosen to pay the Nominate processing fee for all people who have entered the clinic. This means you will get a 100% refund of your entry fees. Nominate has also indicated delays in getting the fee refunds processed and asks for patience. The NSW State Championships are now a question mark and we will update you as we learn more. We are also very sad to see the Scone event cancelled and hope the event they have scheduled for later in the year will be permitted to run. All vaulters, coaches, lunger and participants in the sport of vaulting should be careful and take precautions not to spread the virus. This is the most important thing we can do to bring our world back to normal. VNSW wishes all of you a gentle few months, with care for yourself, your family and your animals. Stay safe. Keep up to date on Equestrian Vaulting in Australia by subscribing to the Equestrian Vaulting Australia website: http://www.equestrianvaultingaustralia.com.au/
