25.01.2022 Thanks to everybody who tuned in to the Fake Four Friday livestream, hope you had fun. Big thanks to El Gran E Records & Fake Four Inc. for making it happen. Bunch of absolute stars, out there. Being able to perform for such a beautiful audience (and one of my rap heroes) was the best birthday present of all time. "Listen to Thorts & Prayrz (AKA Jack Vaul) entertain themselves and each other (and, quite likely, nobody else) over beats by Murma One. An exercise in spontaneity, the two emcees vowed at the beginning of the project not to take things too seriously, though still manage to touch on issues of religion, existentialism, childhood, and Tabasco croissants, amongst other things. All songs mixed and mastered by C$Burns."

15.01.2022 THORTS & PRAYRZ - WISHING WELL WISHES EP - June 1st I have a rapper friend called Thorts. Every so often, someone (usually in a comment section) tells him he needs to find another rapper called "Prayers" and form a group called Thorts & Prayers.... So, I did what any good friend would do and changed my name (temporarily) to Prayrz, and we recorded an EP together. Thorts & Prayrz. It's quirky and loveable and fun, I like it. It'll be available on all major platforms on June 1st, which is less than two weeks away. Write it on your calendar or the back of your hand or something, I'll try to remember to remind you, though. Remind me to do that. All beats courtesy of my old friend Murma One, all songs mixed and mastered by C$Burns.

02.01.2022 This is a strange time to be releasing music. I am very, very aware of this. I know it might seem insensitive to be putting out songs at a time when everything seems so dire, so unstable, so uncertain, but I truly believe that music can offer some form of escapism, and perhaps even a sense of normalcy that we're all missing at the moment. It may seem somewhat out of place to see a post about new music amidst your feed, I am hoping that this feels refreshing as opposed to dis...respectful. The things that used to help us relax and switch off, such as turning on the TV or scrolling through social media, now have their switches firmly set to "on". And I understand this, it's crucial that we all remain informed. But if I dilute the COVID-19 posts by 0.01% then I feel as though that's not altogether a bad thing. At the very least, wrangling these chunks of audio and everything around them has been a welcome distraction for me in the current climate (and for countless years before that, but that's another matter) and I'm hoping that they can serve a similar function for all of you. If it's purely self-serving then I'll just have to wear that, we all have our own coping strategies. My heart goes out to everyone. Absolutely everyone, without exception. We're all in this together, let's hunker down, ride it out, and try to minimise the losses. Much love, many peaces. <3
