24.01.2022 unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, this event has been cancelled

22.01.2022 ALL VCC WA CLUB ACTIVITIES SUSPENDED The Veteran Car Club of WA is aware of increasing concern about the spread of the COVID19 virus and the impact this outbreak may have on individuals and the broader community. Of particular concern is that there is an older demographic within our Club and many Members may therefore be particularly at risk of adverse outcomes should they contract the virus. The Club is committed to the health and safety of its Members and indeed the impact... that its activities may have on the health and safety of the broader communities in which we have a presence. The Executive Management Committee of the Club held an urgent meeting on the 16th March 2020 and determined that it will take immediate steps to reduce the risk of transmission of this virus. It is with regret I advise that, with effect from Monday 23rd March, all Club activities will be suspended until 30th April 2020 in the first instance. This suspension applies to meetings, organised runs, displays and other gatherings held under the auspices of the VCC. The use of Club premises by third parties is also to be suspended. Our Wattle Grove facility, including the parts shed and restoration facility, will also be closed for this period. Your Committee will continue to operate using non face to face meetings and will monitor the recommendations of relevant Authorities with a view to any changes to the suspension date and any further actions that may be required. Be assured, the Committee is anxious to keep this period of suspension to a minimum, however given the current and near term outlook we felt compelled to take this decisive action. Section and Branch Committees have been made aware of this difficult decision and it is our expectation that these requirements be complied with. We will provide updates to Members as we have new information or make further decisions. Take care and stay safe. Terry Duke President Veteran Car Club of Western Australia

18.01.2022 Today we remember a former President of our club, Maurice Brockwell, who passed away on this day 18 years ago. Maurice was a natural leader, he was an innovator, he was passionate about his cars, and he loved the old car movement. He was active in many clubs around Western Australia - the VCC, Studebaker, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Leyland P76, Jaguar, Daimler - just to name a few.... He was a vital part of gaining the unique and historic section of code 404. He was a driving force behind the creation of The Motor Museum of WA. He was also very active in the Council of Motoring Clubs (previously the Combined Car Clubs), serving on their committee in many different roles over the years. He worked hard, and his cars were his relaxation. He was also very generous with his toys. Many of our members borrowed cars from him for events over the years - he rarely turned down anyone who wanted to borrow one. He was a regular in the ANZAC day parade, always supporting the troops in any way he could. Im sure he would be very proud of where the VCC is today, and equally proud of the work being done at the Motor Museum. R.I.P. Maurice. You are sorely missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have known you

17.01.2022 Christmas came early to The Motor Museum of WA as the first two of four 20 foot containers packed with over 12,000 die cast model cars arrived. This is the coll...ection of Blair Allsopp who has amassed over his lifetime a timeline of international Motorsport and F1 models from the 1960’s through to present day. The collection has never been on public display and through the Cultural Gifts Scheme The Motor Museum of WA was able to secure it to display for generations to come. Thanks to our fantastic team of volunteers who unpacked the containers in two hours flat. Thank you Blair Allsopp for entrusting us with your passion. Now the work starts on documenting each vehicle See more

16.01.2022 COVID-19 Update.. ******************************************************** Another month has passed in these strange Covid times since our last update on the Club circumstances. Obviously , for the moment, the suspension of Club activity remains. However there is some light at the end of the road it seems as the Federal and State Governments start to relax constraints on group activities.... Your Executive Management Committee is meeting on the 28th May to plan arrangements that should permit the recommencement of some Club activities. Certainly we expect ongoing limitations around the numbers of people who will be able to congregate, the probable (and sensible) need for physical distancing at gatherings and the need for enhanced cleaning and hygiene precautions to be around for quite a while. Whilst many of the decisions we make will be specific to the Wattle Grove club-rooms and facilities we are conscious that the requirements will need to be adapted to meet the needs of local Branches and Sections also. One of the early issues to be addressed is how we might conduct a legitimate Annual General Meeting of the Club hopefully in July. We expect that the issues around the size of gatherings and the need for physical distancing will limit attendance at such a meeting. Several ways of doing this will be explored. It is also important that we remember the health of our mechanical friends at this time the reason the club exists ! There is no reason that if a few Members wish to exercise their vehicles on a day run somewhere then this is exactly what the Code 404 Impromptu Run is designed for. Participants should log their participation via the Wild Apricot web site for those of you who have not used the feature it works well. Instructions are available in the Members Help area of the web site, but it is pretty easy to use. A link to the procedure is also provided here. Impromptu Run Registration Procedure.pdf However, please ensure that any gathering limits the number of people to 20 and physical distancing applies for those not in the same household, in accordance with the current State Government restrictions. Please remember that the intrastate travel boundaries do not change until the 18th May. We will keep you informed of our plans as they evolve. Stay safe and please stick to the rules. There is much at stake. Regards Terry Duke President

12.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Veteran Car Club of W.A. As promised in my email of the 18th March, I wish to provide you with an update on the VCCWA position with respect to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. ... The Executive Management Committee has determined that no change in the circumstances surrounding our decision to suspend club activities has occurred. In addition, subsequent State and Federal Government directives around social distancing and group gatherings has reinforced the appropriateness of our original decision and indeed make the normal activities of the club impossible. I advise therefore that the current suspension of all club activities is to continue. Your Committee will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with further information in May. Regards Terry Duke President Veteran Car Club of Western Australia
