25.01.2022 Sunday 29th November 100tgt Points Score A cooler day of 25 degrees greeted shooters today, rather than the 42 from yesterday, the targets again were pretty go...od with a bit of a tail wind and the cloud cover just popping in and out, now and then. 37 shooters fronted up, Pol once again in the kitchen doing a great job. 24.01.2022 *** AGM Announcement *** Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have to postpone our AGM again until restrictions are lifted. We are looking at hosting the AGM in October but we will keep you posted. Please feel free to get in touch with myself or Lee if there are any issues or queries.

24.01.2022 ** Masks ** This question raised its head immediately after the VCTA posting on Facebook that competition could begin again in Regional Victoria. The rule is: ... YOU MUST WEAR A MASK unless you have a medical exemption! The VCTA has contacted DHHS and Sport & Rec Victoria immediately after the question was raised. The response received was Exercise Do I have to wear a face covering while exercising? If you are doing exercise or physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing, such as jogging or running, you do not need to wear a face covering. You do have to carry a face covering with you so you can wear it before or after exercising, unless you have a lawful exception. You must wear a face covering when walking for exercise even if the 1.5 metre physical distancing is maintained unless you have a lawful excuse such as a medical condition, where it would be dangerous to have obstructed breathing while walking around. In short, your interpretation is correct you must wear a mask. There are exemptions from DHHS for professional sports people when training or competing, but this is not community level. In the last couple of days there has been a number of stories where shooters are refusing to wear masks. This is to the detriment of our sport and has huge ramifications if people wont do the right thing. Please ensure that your club, and club members, are following the guidelines as required as it is essential for our sport to continue in the current regulations.

20.01.2022 INVITATION: The Colbinabbin CTC was successful in obtaining a grant through the Shire of Campaspe 2019/2020 Community Grants Program (Round One) for the purpose... of constructing an Honour Board. This has now been finished and will be officially unveiled by a member of the Shire of Campaspe at our clubs Christmas Shoot on Saturday 12 December 2020. The Colbinabbin CTC is a small progressive club with documented shoots from its days as the Colbinabbin Gun Club dating back to 1906 and general publicity of the gun club dating back to 1893. Post-World War 2, the Colbinabbin Gun Club was recommenced in 1954 and we have four life members, namely Alan Johns (Dec), Bob West, Alan Edwards and Ed Mullane who will be recognised on this day as well. So, pencil the day into your diaries - we would love to see all of those wonderful supporters of our club both past and present come and celebrate with us. 20.01.2022 The very latest COVID-19 information for clubs. With the recent relaxing of restrictions there has been a change to activities for our clubs. These are, genera...lly, beneficial. * Masks no longer have to be worn except when indoors or when social distancing (1.5 metres) cannot be maintained. Masks should be carried at all times. * Club rooms are open but are subject to density quotients (usually 1 person per 4 sq metres) * 6 shooters are permitted on a trap plus scorer and referee * waves of competitors are permitted * Spectators are allowed but social distancing is very important. * Competitors do not have to wait in cars any more but gathering in groups is to be avoided * Avoid sharing of equipment but, if necessary, equipment must be cleaned between users * All other cleaning, social distancing, recording of contact details and hygiene protocols are to be followed. Good luck with your competitions. Enjoy your pre-Christmas celebrations and we will look forward to a fresh start in the New Year.

19.01.2022 Current changes to regulations for our VCTA clubs. The new guidelines are: All Regional Clubs all competition must cease as of midnight this Wednesday (August 5). Any competitions scheduled for after this date must be cancelled. Practice is permitted under stringent guidelines. Only ten persons are allowed on the premises at a time and there is a limit of two people per trap layout at a time. All hygiene and social distancing protocols must continue to be followed includ...ing registering of contact details. Competition is not allowed at all. There is a high likelihood that there will be alterations to these conditions in coming days. Clubs will be notified as soon as is practicable of any changes. Please ensure that your club is following the new regulations for the sake of everybody.

17.01.2022 As you are all aware, as of midnight Wednesday, the Melbourne Metropolitan area went into Stage 3 lock-down. Previously, this has meant closing of clubs and no... participation. This time the Melbourne Clubs, and this includes Nepean, Mornington, Frankston, Melbourne, Metropolitan and Werribee, will have some ability to shoot. The new regulations mean; No competition practice only it will be necessary to cancel any planned competitions in the immediate future A limit of 10 people at a time on the whole facility (I am unsure if this includes admin staff/coaches I will find this out for you - I am confident that a minimum of staff will be okay)) Only two (2) people on a trap at a time (up to the maximum of 10 people). For example Werribee or Melbourne could have five traps open with two people on each. Members only No canteen, kiosk or clubroom access except for toilets Travel must be limited to local area only (people should only go to their closest club) No sharing equipment. Clubs must ensure that they are following all of the social distancing and hygiene protocols and are registering names and contact details for everyone who attends. Please remember that people from Metropolitan Melbourne cannot travel outside of the lockdown area especially to rural or country clubs that are not under the same restrictions. Country/Rural clubs are still able to hold competitions. These clubs have not had their regulations changed.

10.01.2022 Hi All. We have some exciting news to share! We have reached an agreement with the ACTA to make our software available to all ACTA clubs, zones and states to ru...n their shoots. This will allow us to gather sufficient score data over the next 12 months to facilitate the implementation of an automated, online handicapping algorithm that will finally allow for the retirement of the books! We would like to thank all the clubs who are already using our software. Without your support and feedback over the years this would not have been possible. For all those clubs not yet using our software please email me at [email protected] with your name, email, mobile and club details so we can get you setup as soon as possible.

10.01.2022 YARRAWONGA WILL BE RUNNING PRACTICE SATURDAY 16TH JANUARY AT 1PM

09.01.2022 News from Euroa CTC: Competition Clay Target Shooting Closes for the Second Time After just one competition shoot in July the Euroa Clay Target Club has to cease both competition and training from Wednesday evening 5th August due to the Stage 3 Covid 19 restrictions. While disappointing for the club members it is essential that this virus be brought back under control before clay target shooting can safely resume. Therefore all shooting from Wednesday evening 5th August... will cease until further notice. At this stage the very important Victorian State Championships due to be held in November at Echuca must be in serious doubt. With the state border restrictions in place and not to mention the Victorian Corona Virus re-emerging it seems highly unlikely this carnival will go ahead. Meanwhile for all club members, stay safe and follow the rules and we may just get back to busting a few clays before Christmas.

09.01.2022 Dear ACTA Clubs, Zones and Members Please be advised that, at this afternoons ACTA Executive Committee Meeting, a motion was unanimously passed to Cancel all ...ACTA National Events for 2020. This decision was made, primarily based on: the need to protect all members health and safety, (especially given the current escalating situation in Victoria and possibly beyond), Inability to predict the likely revisions to any State or Territory Health Department restrictions that may next occur, the deadlines approaching to timeframes in which administrative tasks need to be performed in order to adequately deliver the events, and the cost implications of attempting to stage events that will be severely under-subscribed. We will provide a more detailed report in the August Clay Target e-News which will go out to our members next week. Kind regards, Paul

09.01.2022 What the September 6 Roadmap announcements mean for our sport! At this point of time there is no change to the current conditions for clay target shooting in Vi...ctoria. For clubs in the Melbourne Zone - you must still remain closed and, except under exceptional circumstances such as training for high performance athletes which you must get permission for, no club activities are permitted at all. For clubs in Regional Victoria - you are still permitted to practice under strict guidelines ..... 10 people on the facility, only 2 people on a trap at a time, all other social distancing and hygiene requirements are essential. Masks are mandatory! It is unlikely that there will be any change to these arrangements until the end of September. Rest assured that as soon as further news is released it will be notified immediately on Facebook and by email to all clubs. Stay safe and stay well!! See more

02.01.2022 Change of Euroa Clay Target Club President The Euroa Clay Target Club conducted the club’s annual general meeting on Friday evening 20th November. Following ...a welcome barbecue the meeting commenced at 8pm with club office bearers giving their respective reports. Club President, Iain Towers reported on the two main topics. The effect of the Covid-19 epidemic on the functioning of the club through this difficult time. With the lack of competition shoots for much of the season, at least the club was able to continue with training shoots for much of the year, thus providing some funds to offset the loss of income. The other main topic in his report was the ongoing club rooms project in conjunction with the Eastern Central Districts Rifle Association. Iain has been the main representative of the Clay Target Club in bringing this valuable asset towards a successful conclusion. Following his report, he stated that he was stepping down as President as he felt it was time to regenerate the committee as the club goes forward. Iain joined the club in 2007 and has been a stalwart of the club taking over the Presidency from Rob Barns during the club’s relocation to the Violet Town Range and helping oversee various building projects to get club re-established and operational again. Another club stalwart, Laurie Fitzpatrick accepted the nomination as Club President and was elected un-opposed. Laurie joined the Euroa Club in 2004 and has been especially helpful in anything to do with the installation of anything electrical. As the principal of Fortified Electrics, Laurie has sponsored many events with the Annual Bushranger Championship currently his major event. He is also sponsopring a major Mother’s Day raffle next year. Congratulations to Laurie. Rob Stackhouse is continuing as secretary and John King remains treasurer. The club’s final competition shoot for 2020 is the Annual Christmas Shoot on Sunday 13th December with plenty of Christmas prizes on offer.
