24.01.2022 Never thought I would share a Today Tonight report but, this is worth it! Termite proof, fire resistant, low energy costs, and beautiful. :)

22.01.2022 Have you been an owner builder? Id love to know about your experiences. Please answer a couple of questions in this short survey and tag your owner builder friends too. :) https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F6GMP5S

21.01.2022 Cannot share this enough! https://vimeo.com/74294955

19.01.2022 I really recommend this workshop. If you are interested in alternative materials, cost effective construction, owner builder construction, an effective insulation and (personally) I think it looks pretty great too, consider learning about hemp (Low THC). The workshop really gives well rounded knowledge of the product and its potential building uses.

19.01.2022 Ever thought of using an alternative material for your project? Do materials matter to you?

18.01.2022 Hi all. I'm doing a little bit of research about where I want to take my business in the future. I would love to get your feedback via a short survey on your home and how you feel in it. Thank you https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MSGNNTX

17.01.2022 Our rammed earth house at Kew got final approval last week! Woo!! The build has already kicked off and well be heading up there over the next few months to check out the progress. Watch this space!

17.01.2022 A question that I find comes up a lot is why use an architect on your project. Heres a short piece I wrote about why you should consider using one on your future project. http://vdmdesign.com.au/news/

16.01.2022 Talk about beautiful! This weekend past we headed up to Kew to check out whats been happening at the S + K house. This place is absolutely bursting with life! We are lucky enough to work with Steve and Karen to design their forever place which will kick into gear later this year. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself! Its not every day you get to work with master craftsmen (and women!)

16.01.2022 We often have this idea in our head that starting from scratch is the best way to be sustainable. But is building something new the way to go?

15.01.2022 What if there was a better alternative to the horrible airconditioners were enslaved by? Would you consider using something like this in your home? https://www.brightvibes.com//check-out-the-coolest-air-con

13.01.2022 Hi all. Im doing a little bit of research about where I want to take my business in the future. I would love to get your feedback via a short survey on your home and how you feel in it. Thank you https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MSGNNTX

13.01.2022 If we want to live comfortably in Australia in the future we need to overhaul how we design and build our homes.

11.01.2022 On the weekend I attended the A Green Life or a Green Lie conference. I got some insight into how IT, materials and what we do in our homes affects our health. How healthy do you think your place is? http://www.maitlandmercury.com.au//tocal-conference-phot/

11.01.2022 Just before Easter we sent off a concept design for a rammed earth house. Really looking forward to seeing how this one develops!

10.01.2022 VDM design will be taking an indefinite hiatus from April. We have a big (small) project that will be entering the world at the end of April and will be enjoying some time off for the rest of this year. Existing clients and projects will continue but we wont be taking on any new work. VDM design will be going in a new direction in 2020 so for now, thank you for supporting a small business and see you for something different next year.

10.01.2022 Well thats that! First year in business is done! Its been a phenomenal ride with lots of ups and downs, mistakes and triumphs. Ive had the opportunity to meet, work with, and share ideas with many people who inspire me and I like it so much that Im going to do it again next year. Heres to new projects, new people and new lessons in 2018. Time for a break - Ill be back in the office from the 8th of January. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

05.01.2022 This article has some great concepts in it. Some of these ideas have been around for 50 years or more and its not hard to understand why they work. It would be nice to see some of Australias newest suburbs take on some of these ideas! https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php
