24.01.2022 Another glorious spot situated in the Derwent Valley a place full of hidden gems;)

24.01.2022 Willow Court is the oldest, continually run asylum located in the island state of Tasmania, Australia and had its heritage start before 1827. This is older than the well-known and well visited Port Arthur Historic Site. Asylums like Willow Court that once segregated and housed people with disabilities and mentally ill have lain empty and often unused for the last decade

22.01.2022 Here is a preview from my Road trip to the Southwest yesterday such a raw location full of wonderful colours a fine example of the un-touch and non developed part of the island. Iconic destinations such as Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder including Scotts Peak Dam and Edgar Pond just to name a few. Strathgordon sits at 322m above sea level and Lake Pedder Lodge recently reopened back in 2012.... This part of Tasmania was ideal with the large amount of rainfall especially yearly between the months of May - July rainfalls are at a record high for the state. The Lake Gordon Dam reservoir first began in the early 1970's it was the first of many proposed dam built infrastructures in the Gordon river area. It caused political protest on a global scale when the Tasmanian Government intended to continue the development plans until the Australian Government overruled in the high courts to stop the proposed construction of more dams in this pristine part of the Island.

20.01.2022 Another mobile moment captured before the coldness of winter set in. I look at this shot and remember this day it was before 7am and temperature of 19 degrees bring back summer in over the cold already....

18.01.2022 A look back to reflect on a special part of the North this time it was CRADLE MOUNTAIN and what magic it has to see. Heres some information on the area: The first recorded visits by Europeans to the Cradle Mountain area were by officials of the Van Diemen's Land Company in the late 1820s. ... Henry Hellyer, a surveyor with the company, is believed to be the first European to climb Cradle Mountain. Cradle Mountain was named by Joseph Fossey in 1826. For much of the subsequent 100 years. On 16 May 1922, an area of 158,000 acres (63,943 ha) from Cradle Mountain down to Lake St Clair was proclaimed a Scenic Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary

14.01.2022 I will be the first to admit I'm not a real big fan of people tagging their emblem or moto or slogan on public display but the other side of me actually admires some of the sensational colours used to make their mark.

10.01.2022 I love the Derwent Valley and for the last 13 years I have been lucky enough to get any spare time I can to photograph it. This spot I dearly love - Location a secret - "explore the surroundings and see for yourself what wonders lie within" ... Ryan Hunter - Van Diemen Photography

08.01.2022 Its been a long time between my posts but heres one of my favourite places to capture the lovely Derwent Valley.

06.01.2022 I Captured this overlooking one of the old abandoned homesteads in a location formally known as "Sorell Plains" or "Lower Clyde" now known as "Hamilton" Governor Arthur in 1826 proclaimed it after William Henry Hamilton a wealthy Free Settler to Van Diemen's Land back in April 1824 back in it's "Hay Day" it was thriving township with numerous Inn's and breweries including a variety of shops a bakery and courthouse because of its ideal soil it was an ideal location for hops and vegetables with an abundance of water from the ever flowing river that runs through it,
