13.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that from Monday 18th May we will be reopening for in store browsing. Almost seven weeks ago we made the very difficult decision to stop in store browsing. While this obviously had a massive detrimental effect on our sales (especially with livestock), we felt it was the correct thing to do given the situation to best protect the health and safety of both our customers and staff. We'd like to thank the majority of our customers who have been understa...nding and supportive of of our choice to do this. Unfortunately we have also been abused and harassed daily (as well as receiving a few crappy reviews) for making this decision by those who either don't think that COVID-19 is serious or that their "essential" right to pick out a fish outweighs our safety and the safety of our other customers. Luckily due to the former group (and in spite of the latter) the situation in Australia is amongst the best in the world. We have altered the livestock section layout to allow for greater distancing and vision and will only be allowing a relatively small number of people in at a time for browsing (although will still be able to serve at the front counter to those who just want to buy supplies and don't need or can't wait to browse). The number of customers allowed in at one time will be adjusted up or down as we get a feel for what we can manage while maintaining social distancing. We will also be asking customers to keep browsing brief during weekends and times when there are other people waiting to browse so that everyone gets a chance. To help us get as many people in as possible, please: 1) Try not to come in large groups to browse, one or two people is much easier to manage distancing wise. 2) Please make use of our hand washing facilities before entering the shop, and also try to minimise touching stock (unless you are taking it to the counter to purchase) 3) Please maintain social distancing at all times, the more people respect this the more chance of increasing the number of customers allowed into the shop at a time. We are expecting that for the first week or two after reopening for browsing we will be very busy, please be patient and try to visit at less peak times if possible. regards The Vebas Team

10.01.2022 COVID-19 update While we are still open we are operating with several restrictions. It is a condition of entry that all hands are washed thoroughly with soap (we have a hand washing station at the front door) Please refrain from touching stock and keep 1.5m distance between you/your group and others including staff. We may restrict entry to the shop if there are enough people inside that this becomes difficult, please be patient with this.... Please don't enter the shop if you are feeling unwell (cough, fever, breathing difficulties, fatigue) or if you or someone you have been in contact with has been overseas in the last 14 days. We won't be taking fish trade ins or doing water testing over the weekend. If you are unable or feel uncomfortable entering the shop please call us or contact us through Facebook /email so we can try to assist. 03.01.2022 COVID-19 Update We are no longer allowing customers to browse the shop, but continue to sell both dry goods and livestock from the front counter with one customer at a time. We are also working on an online store for both click and collect and delivery options. We will continue to develop methods to reduce risk to both our staff and customers during these trying times.
