We were recently up there and happened across Zen Vegetarian Restaurant. Have to say, I have not eaten traditional Chinese food for so many years due to the lack of vegan options but WOW this food was so damn good. It was fresh, mostly local produce and made from scratch, and the restaurant is... gorgeous.... Lara, the chef and owner, makes amazing traditional Chinese food and almost everything is vegan! We had a great chat with her and found out that just like us, she is doing this for the animals and the planet. Sorry, no food photos, but I guarantee it was good. We had to try the Sweet and Sour Tobao (crispy skinned bean curd) for old times sake and it tasted just like I remember. A definite visit is necessary if you're up that way. See more
