22.01.2022 A great article and some top tips about companion planting and overlapping seasonal veg. How awesome to have a constant supply of veg and not have to buy from the shops.
22.01.2022 Early spring is the best time to make sure your soil is ready for your heavy summer croppers. Nows a great time to grow and turn into your soil mustard plants or marigolds as they break down the nematodes that cause blossom end rot in you prized tomatoes. Coffee grinds for a little nitrogen and eggshells for calcium are also great aids in producing a great harvest - two of my favourites items in our household! 20.01.2022 Community gardens are a great place to go if you dont have space for your own garden. I have found so many local ones. Most are always happy to share. Share some space, some produce and always a chat!
19.01.2022 Over the past few week every Wednesday Ive picked between 10-16 bunches of spinach for the Peoples Pantry to help people who cant afford fresh fruit and veg. Small win this week as our snow peas start supplying and the strawberries are offering a few delights. Its feels good to help out even in small ways. Baby steps! Spring onions are coming soon too!

09.01.2022 Can you help ? As many of you are aware the need for affordable food has grown significantly during 2020. Due to this, supplies have been lower than usual for... many services. If you or someone you know has fruit trees or a veggie patch and more than they can use please send them our way :) Well happily take your excess to pass onto our members and their families. Drop off is welcome anytime during our opening times (mon , wed, fri & sat 10-2) Thank you The Peoples Pantry
09.01.2022 Gardening is such a funny thing. Seasons used to be so typical. Nowadays its try and see and things push out for longer or later. I find the more things you try and test, the more you get interesting results. I havent emptied my potatoe pots for a year or so but they have been flowering and dying back. I thought today I might be in for a BIG surprise of some of last years potatoes... it appears not... some beautiful lush soil and some very baby chats! Oh well. Replanted for the next season with some fancy purple beauties to add to the collection.
09.01.2022 The pantry is closed this week everyone. Reach out if you desperately need help though. There is always someone to answer. Mulching in the hot, nows the time. Stay safe.

05.01.2022 In less than 3 weeks I have this amazing growth on a celery end that would have otherwise gone into the compost. Ill plant him out in the garden this weekend for it to grab some more nutrients and grow big and strong.
