06.01.2022 Proud to be a part of this interesting and important festival The Zero Waste Festival 2019 is on October 26th at St Kilda Town Hall. 10 am 6pm Guest speakers panel starts at 10am... This festival is in its second year and it aims to provide attendees with ideas and skills, guiding strong sustainable habits, inspiring change, sharing practical resources and connecting with the community. This event will feature inspiring presentations, information stalls, music, and workshops showcasing ways to creatively and economically reduce waste, rethink the way we reuse resources, and to empower community focused environmental actions. The day will kick off with an in-conversation discussion on What is the formula for a Zero Waste city? The panel will include Lauren and Oberon Carter, authors of Zero Waste Families; David Holmgren, Co-founder of permaculture, author of a number of books, most recently, RetroSuburbia; The Downshifter Guide to a Resilient Future. There will also be an audience Q&A. There is limited seating available for this presentation, so this is a ticketed event. A clothes swap will be held from 11:00am to 1:30pm. If you would like to participate, purchase a clothes swap ticket and bring up to 10 items to swap and refresh your wardrobe. More information in the ticketing section. This event is supported by the Clothing Exchange. The day will be jam packed with workshops, activities and entertainment including Repair Cafe, plogging, workshops turning waste and preventing waste such as making dishclothes, mosaic art, clothing mending and much more. http://zerowastevictoria.org/zero-waste-festival/
