22.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE from the Australian Car Wash Association: ACWA has received calls from many concerned members in the wake of press releases issued by State Premiers last night announcing shutdowns of non-essential businesses, Please be advised that at this time, these measures DO NOT require any car wash operating in any State of Australia to shut down.... The Australian Governments advice is that businesses impacted by the latest regulations include: Restaurants and cafes (which will be restricted to take away and home delivery), Registered and licensed clubs (excluding bottle shops attached to these venues), Pubs, Hotels (excluding accommodation), Gyms, Indoor sporting venues, Cinemas, Casinos, Entertainment venues, Places of worship, Weddings and, Funerals (other than very small groups with the 4sqM per person rule to apply). Car wash operators operating onsite cafes should take special notice of dot-point one above. For full details, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) coronavirus (COVID-19) update statement on 22 March 2020 can be found here https://www.health.gov.au//australian-health-protection-pr. Members are asked to consider how they should apply the principals of social distancing at sites and implement ACWAs previous advice on health and safety procedures. Paul said the photo was taken at the Qantas jet base in Sydney washing a 747. Paul thinks the photo might have been taken around the mid to late 80s. Qantas still wash aircraft in the same way using our Air-O-Wash, a broom, and a bit of elbow grease! #qantas #carwash
