16.01.2022 Fourth edition of Velothon Sunshine Coast, scheduled to take place in July 2020, has been postponed. There are a number of factors at work in making the difficult decision to postpone next year’s event, IRONMAN Group Oceania, Managing Director, Dave Beeche said. We felt it necessary to take a step back to fully investigate the optimal format of Velothon Sunshine Coast that works best for our competitors and importantly, for the local communities that host us throughout the... event. In three years, Velothon Sunshine Coast has established itself as an outstanding 3 day stage race experience for amateur cyclists that enjoys great community support. Its growing reputation and the interest in this event has made this a very tough decision. While the postponement will be disappointing to those who have already expressed their interest in the 2020 event, as organisers we believe the opportunity for a review will ensure that Velothon Sunshine Coast is given the best possible chance of success and growth, he said.

11.01.2022 Stage 3 - the Queen stage - was breathtaking in more ways than one! Today showed off all the things that make the Sunshine Coast great with ocean views, rolling hinterland hills and expansive views of the Glass House Mountains. The views had to be earned but riders were rewarded with fast, winding descents flowing back to the coast. It was the final stage for our 3 Day riders and a taste of the Velothon experience for our 1 Day riders.
